  • This is my full review of the TwoTrees SK1 3D Printer. This Core-XY 3D printer boasts 700 mm/s print speeds, with all the neat functionality that Kipper firmware provides. It even has tilt automatic Bed Leveling!
    Thank you TwoTreesfor providing the SK1 for review.

    - I sounds like stealth chop is disabled to increase motor power at higher speeds.|
    - Corner Quality can be improved with pressure advance.

    1:16 are you sure it is Volcano nozzle? They changed it in the mean time? My nozzle is much smaller.

    In your firmware update video you showed removing the EEMC storage and flashing it. What device was used to flash the EEMC? Is there a way to install Mainsail into Klipper on the SK1? Thanks.

      It is an emmc adapter included with the SK1. Unfortunately I'm not familiar enough with klipper to know if you could install mainsail onto it, I'm not sure what access is needed.

      @@HoffmanEngineering , I have a few more questions if you don't mind please.
      What type of nozzle is used? I realize it will be a special high flow nozzle but is it a E3D, Volcano, M6, etc?
      Thanks.

    Does it print ABS/ASA reliably? TwoTree mentions ABS on their product page, but I don't see any reviewers print or mention ABS/ASA on this printer.

      I have printed abs on it briefly. It was successful, and I see no reason it would not work reliably for longer print with ABS or ASA. It would also be very easy to enclose this printer, which would greatly benefit ABS printing.

    My printer is down right now waiting on a part, and I'm having withdrawals. I've been watching 3d printing videos like a madman seeing other printers in the off chance I need to buy a new one.

      What printer do you currently have? There are a lot of great options out there when you decide you need a second, or a third, or a 24th :D

    I'm done with these reviewers showing us tests like benchy's in filaments where we can't see anything.

    • @HoffmanEngineering
      @HoffmanEngineering  4 місяці тому +2

      I appreciate the comment. The sample benchy was printed with the included white filament. I made sure to switch to more video friendly filament for the other tests. I'll keep it in mind for future reviews.

    WTF - manual z-offset with the paper method? :D
    for that price, this is horrible

      I know, right? I can't believe that was ever a standard. I'm surprised you don't have to bang a couple rocks together and do a rain dance or something.

      On sale, it's faster and cheaper than the Bambulab P1P.
      Paper is a common calibration tool used by even more expensive printers.
      Calibration methods are not indicative of quality

    • @suit1337
      @suit1337 4 місяці тому

      @@Microplastic_Therapy of course calibration methods are not an indication of quality - in high end CNC applications you would use feeler gauges or ruby-tipped probes for a dial indicator
      but you want to seriously tell me, that i need to zero my printer with a piece of paper? nozzle probing is so accurate nowadays, it lies well below the tolerance of the stepper motors
      i havn't manually zeroed anything for years now

      The offset is only done once so it's not a big deal
