      I did!!! Mine looks exactly like that and then I put some solar lights underneath to light up at night. I just love it! So tell me why you like this design

  • @antomano5623
    @antomano5623 2 роки тому +4

    Yeah, you should extended 2' or 3' backwards and another 2' forwards and used clear corrugated panels. Once the wooden walls (fence) goes up it be less light for both during daytime and especially at night. It would be less noisy during the wind and rain too.
    It's better than before. Now you can always use this area for bbqing and for other family events with the shaded patio cover.

    Make a solar panel up the roof and that’s how you can charge your vehicle and you have to have like a back up batteries some area.

    Looks great! To quiet the metal roof during heavy rains you could spray the under side of roof with closed cell foam. It would not eliminate the noise but it would surely deaden it some.

    • @chrisloesch1870
      @chrisloesch1870 2 роки тому

      I doubt he got permits just looking at the video and likely in the building setback. It’s a permanent structure once he cemented the posts in which was a mistake. It’s also on the front of his house so it could also very likely be a zoning violation in addition to a building code violation. He’s also talking about doing a solid wood fence in the setback which is typically a no no as well. The municipality might make him tear all that down in a few years when they drive by and discover it. Not hatin just sayin.

I'm glad to hear your Accord is still running great. Depend on how heavy the rain, you can hear it. I can hear it more when I am in the living room since. Its not too bad. A worthy trade off to keep my car in the shade. :)

So current material cost new total is about $1200 to get it the way I originally wanted. Grand total with labor and everything is about $2500. Wished I would have done that from the start. I got my materials from www.steelsurplusinc.com. I will be doing an update (Part 2) video to my carport after I add lights and relocate my Tesla charging outlet. I will also concrete the strip of grass at the back. Stay tuned for my update.

      I got my materials from www.steelsurplusinc.com/products.html. I don't have the exact list but overview items are
      Square Tubing, R-Panel Sheet Metal, CEE Purlin, Fastener, and Channel

    What was the total cost to install your carport ? Not including the fence? Where are you located? Thinking about doing the same exact thing you did at my place and was curious to know what you paid

      See my video description for more details. I paid $2300 for materials + labor. I am in the Houston, TX area.

    Very nice I looking forward to this. I was looking for 3 cars but 2 should be enough. . Thanks for the great video and sharing

      If you have the space for 3 cars...I would lol. Also I am looking to add some fans so it will be cooler when trying to wash car. Just ideas since you are now looking into building yours. Good luck with your carport. It is definitely worth it.
