Thanks for watching! Yes, Disney did purchase the former Genting Global Dream and it has been relocated to the new shipyard to be completed. I believe she will be launching by the end of 2024 or early 2025 in Asia.
They most certainly did! That came out of left field and when we heard the rumors a few weeks ago, I didn't think it would actually happy. So much better than scrapping a brand new ship. Can't wait to see it for real. 6 funnels in the rendering!
We just finished 7 years of "Landcruising" in our motorhome across the US. I can tell you that IF cruise lines can provide reasonably speedy internet, it's a huge game changer. Campgrounds began to figure this out during the pandemic and it has created a whole new class of "Digital Nomads". The good news for the cruise lines & sea-going Digital Nomads is what you suggested about working from the ship and seeing the world. The challenge will be maintaining the service, providing a reasonable fee and then even more occupancy on board. Good thing there are so many new ships in the works! Thanks for the excellent video!

With the coming SpaceX Starlink Service across Royal Caribbean Group (Royal Caribbean, Celebrity, Seabourn) the potential of up to 350MB/s by the end of Q1 2023 is becoming a reality. We were also pleasantly surprised by the high quality of internet onboard the Virgin Voyages Scarlet Lady this past July. I was able to livestream twice from the ship with no issues at all and it only cost me $10/day to upgrade from the included WiFi. Working from a cruise ship is now upon us and I'm looking forward to taking advantage of that. Thanks again for watching and your kind words!
I actually like the name Utopia because no other cruise ship has it. I'm tired of the cruise lines giving their ships the same name as other cruise lines and just putting their company name front of it ... such as Carnival Spirit and Norwegian Spirit or Viking Sky, Sky Princess, Norwegian Sky etc etc
World Europa looks like Quantum Class on steroids! Icon is certainly going to be different with that massive dome up front kind of like a big bug eye. Can't want to see what she's going to be like inside.

Norwegian ships are getting better and better as far as amenities go but I don’t think they needed that many new ships and wish they spend that money on their island first and then the new ships and have them delayed a year or two in order to achieve more for their brand on their island
I have often wondered why they have not built a pier at Great Stirrup Cay. We've visited twice but both times it was called off. Meanwhile we watched the Royal Caribbean ships pull into Coco Cay right next door.

Like the island share to that point that makes Royal a better choice island wise when I go on vacation I don’t wanna be a tourist I wanna lay on the beach and have drink and just lounge working to much to want to not enjoy that sucks so these private islands are perfect! Especially when Royal say a 2 day visit to coco cay loll. Like you’d get the same wether same sand same everything economy wise but way more things offered doesn’t make it worth it to book for their island there’s no really anything to do and not the best when the whole family comes not much verity of things to do let alone it’s never consistent like you said being called off like love the ships they’re doing great keeping up with everything just not worth it when the island less then a boat ride away is way better
Totally unrelated question... But since you said drop a question I thought I would.... Last time I was on a cruise another passenger had a hand held radio like they use to listen to air traffic controllers. Do you know what type scanner I need to get to be able to listen like they did. On the radio he could listen in to the ships talking to the harbor masters similarly as you do air traffic controllers
I have never used one, but I just searched "Maritime Scanner" and a whole bunch of options showed up. Some just to track ship positions and others had the frequencies allowing you to listen in to the audio chatter. So that's my suggestion, Use Mr. Google! :) Thanks so much for watching!
