I do not know the first thing about fish. The one Discus fish w/ the blue-ish coloring to it ~ is absolutely BEaUtiFul!! It makes me want to go get a tank. Lol 🐟🐠 Enjoy ur Tank & Fish, as I can imagine taking care of the tank & fish is part of the joy of owning them. The other being watching them and relaxing after a long day. ENJOY ... -Love from Maryland- 💜
I want to go back to keeping Discus but the reef tank take away most of my time... I'm from Brazil so they are special to me... maybe someday. tip: do not make sudden movements close to their tank or they will associate you with scary things and shy away every time you get close to the aquarium.
As soon as you said the most difficult I knew what you were getting! I'm only part way through the video so I'm excited to see what colors you picked out. My FIRST aquarium (before goldfish) was those guys and they weren't too bad at all. Such little waste producers compared to goldfish. I have pretty awful water quality here due to being on city water (comes out with 1+ppt amonia, chlorine, chloramines, etc) and they thrived and grew so quickly! I definitely had one become dominant and grow twice as fast as the rest though. I fed a lot of bloodworms and blackworms and had corydoras for a clean up crew, it worked out really well!
Great pic Jenny you're discus are beautiful they have a lot of personality once they get comfortable in that aquarium and when you get a few more that'll help to 🐟🐟
I found the King od DIY's channel through you and then got caught on the discus! And I am so happy you started in on them too! Your fish are veautiful!
Wow, they acclimated to the water pressure rather quickly it seems. Usually they lay on their sides when they go from bags to tanks because of the water pressure difference. Guess it wasn't a long trip for them
Omg I have that same 120g canister filter on my 75g turtle aquarium and oh my lord does it work wonders! 10/10 do recommend it one hundred and fifty percent to anyone curious if it's well.
Sooooo beautiful! Hey, when Joey visited Uncle Sam's for a huge unboxing, they mentioned that the change in water pressure from the small bags used in shipping to the deeper aquarium can cause them to hang out at the bottom and even lay over... I was wondering if that is what was happening to your recent shipment from Dandy Oranda's.
woo nice discuss!! I know you said you weren't going to put anything else in the tank but discuss look so good with really nice green plants behind them. even just some java fern or anubias
Honestly my kinda favorite fish to keep in a tank is a (Blood Parrot Cichlid) Me and my boyfriend have 1 and her name is Fin. The reason why I like them is cause she is so funny she just likes picking up little pebble all the time for no reason and its just so cute 😄
Discus tend to be shy at first. My fish beg for food..or come near the glass if I tap it...they just have to settle down and get used to their new surroundings.
They are beautiful. I kept discus for a while. I hated when they got sick and would all of a sudden dash like crazy around the tank and ram into the sides. They are too hard to keep even with all the knowledge around and very costly. Good Luck with them.
No lie, when you were talking about the research it reminded me of before I go to any pet store lol. I've only not done research about fish before going to a pet store when I went to see a movie with my friends and we ended up going to a pet store and I got an Albino Rainbow Shark and named it Alexander Hamilshark lol.
love the go big or go home attitude. could have started with severums, the poor mans discus :p awesome color choices by the way...oh, the fish are nice too. (had to make a hair comment) lol. good luck, those are some great looking discus
Im really wanting to get back into the fishkeeping hobby but don't have much experience outside of a couple bettas and plecostomus, what would you recommend for a medium size freshwater fish(3-5 inches maybe) that would work well in a 55 gallon tank in a small group(4-6 members perhaps), with a pair of small plecostomus for cleaners.
Some plants, less light, Discus are very delicate fish in their ph, temperature and water conditions, and is a fish is very easily stressed. Gopd luck!!!
Wait,, you don't even temp and ph check the water so they are on the same level before you pour the fish over? I have to watch the other video where you explain now.
what is a good website to get fish from the only fish place I have were I live is Walmart and there fish always die a few days after you get them and I really would like some fish?
DISCUS!!
I was expecting this comment! :D
The king of DIY Yaaaaaas! Would love to see a collab with you two.

0:32 Are we really gonna ignore how that cat just disappeared
She skipped the part where the cat moves.
Witchcraft
Lol
I jumped up the shelf 🤣
I like how calm the discus are when they are being transported into the aquarium.

Great pic Jenny you're discus are beautiful they have a lot of personality once they get comfortable in that aquarium and when you get a few more that'll help to 🐟🐟
Ahh they are beautiful. Hope they stay healthy + happy. The cichlids I've seen in stores are full of personality, maybe just give them some time?

beautiful!..... I love discus... your tank looks awesome!
Discus tend to be shy at first. My fish beg for food..or come near the glass if I tap it...they just have to settle down and get used to their new surroundings.
hey Jennie, nice discus. Are you going to let the tannins leach and aim for a black water tank or try to keep it cleared up all the time?
awwww... u r so awesome... i am falling in love as u keep on speaking and i keep on listening you more and more..
Ahh I new it! Haha it was discus first in my head and angels second. Had a feeling when I saw the hardscape layout that it was a tropical fish.😁
They are beautiful fish. As you are.. great choice
They are beautiful. I kept discus for a while. I hated when they got sick and would all of a sudden dash like crazy around the tank and ram into the sides. They are too hard to keep even with all the knowledge around and very costly. Good Luck with them.

May I ask how many years your goldfish usually live? You seem really knowledgeable on how to keep them healthy.
Add some cories in! would look perfect!

Nice choice :) Looks like they are in mint condition :)
