I know what you mean Bunky, I keep asking myself that same question Why do I keep buying off E-bay??? I had a similar problem with the Electrolux Epic 3500 SR upright vacuum that I told you I was waiting to come in from E-bay... When I got it, It had no packaging material inside the box just the vacuum itself but yet it was in very nice condition like the seller said... However when I went to turn it on, the motor squealed like crazy like it was on it's deathbed or something and the suction was very poor as well... So like you I took it all apart and found that it was all clogged up with leaves and walnuts shells and cleaned everything out but the motor still had a very high pitched squeal to it, So I went on line and did a little research and it said to use WD-40 Specialist Penetrant and spray it on the motor and low and behold it quieted the motor right down and now the motor sounds great and the suction is strong too!!! Boy what we don't have to go through to get something that you really want Right??? Good luck with this and I hope you can fix the wheel??? Thanks for the video Bunky and Have a good night..... Bob
That is definitely my favorite of the rare oddball Hoover vacuums (I'm happy Hoover was able to make a bagged version of this vacuum, because frankly their original bagless design on this platform wasn't the best). I really remember HSN's video ad of this vacuum back in the day (that may or may not still be on their channel today). Fun fact, this was made just barely before Maytag lost ownership of Hoover to TTI, and also the brush roll design for this is the same one used on the Windtunnel Self Propelled.
@@matthewantonucci6751 Well I did talk about grooming the carpet which I think it did a great job at. As for the air flow/suction part that I didn’t do. Sorry 😞 but did you see that nasty clog I found? YULK

@@graysonsvacsandmowers5426 Wow 😮. Now that’s a fun fact that I like to hear. Thank you.
I recommend a claw grabber tool found in the automotive section
@@Dankcatvacs Are you talking about how to take the wheel off?
Hey, You Forgot About Agitation And AirFlow And They're More Important Than Suction!

My gosh, the seller ruined that otherwise rare and fantastic vacuum due to poor packaging. Hoping the axle can be straightened.
@@DoctoredGinst I have notified the seller and waiting on a response.
