This was planted around 40 years ago by my parents. Of course it was only a rhetorical question as I know they can get pretty large and no doubt it will carry on growing 😁
@Glaudge lol this is the UK , in our climate things don’t grow like they do in the US 😂. It’s also on very poor soil with poor irrigation. I believe the tallest specimen in the UK is around 120 feet tall and 150 years old. It’s not easy to measure this one but I THINK it’s around 50 feet tall. To put it into perspective pawpaw trees grow around 6 inches a year here 😁
Wow, what a lovely specimen Brett!
Yep I’ve not seen one this big, maybe not even in Kew but then I probably wasn’t looking lol
Hi Brett,This is so beautiful Tulip tree.
Thanks, yes you need a fair bit of space to get a big one
They’re lovely trees. Never seen them flower over here unfortunately
This flowers heavily although I seem to recall it took around 10 years before it started 😁
Wow 🤩 Is that a local park?
Haha no that's growing in my parents lawn 😂. They planted it around 40 years ago
@@lyonheart84 beautiful.
I am from Kentucky and my answer is *very*. This specimen is modest compared to in nature
