- In this episode of Smith RC Studios we get the MCD Xs5 Onroad car fully dialed in and applied the Anti-Lock Brake System from the radio to the car! Drives way smoother for bashing.
Hey Lewis. Such a beautiful RC. Sounds great too. God bless!
Thank you Marion.
Nice setup
Thank you! Cheers
Car looks great
Thanks Robert! 👍🏽
You might be able to change modes….pulse modes to make it. Smoother. Very nice studio haha!
Hmm interesting okay. Thanks for the tip
Lindo carro 🚗 gás ⛽ 🚗🔥💥💨🎬🎞🥰😍😎💪🏼👍🏻chique 📸💪🏼👍🏻
Thank you very much! Cheers
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
ABS doesn’t work without sensors to know if the wheels are locked up or not. I tried it on my XR5 (mechanical brake not hydrax) and all it did was increase my braking distance (I did stop the lockup though)
A better solution is to adjust your endpoints on your brake servos so you can push the car forward and the brakes don’t lock.
I found this to be a good solution to stop the lockups and spin outs without increasing the braking distance.
with abs active it keeps from locking up the brake which causes the car to go out of control when braking abs works well but does take slighlty longer distance to stop
@@sandhujatt2 there are no sensors to recognize if the wheels are locked up, so with ABS all it does is lock up the wheels intermittently. Best results are just to set up the brakes right to the point where they won’t lock period. From my anecdotal testing, all ABS does is increase braking distance.
Thanks for the input. It’s a good option to have i figure and good to know. I can always turn off or on depending what i want. Cheers 👍🏽
@@MCD_OCD we ran that car up and down the steerts many times and it absolutly works
@@sandhujatt2 so why do you think no one who races XR5, XS5 and Duox use ABS?
No one is saying it doesn’t work, but it doesn’t work as well as having your brakes set up right in the first place.
Modern ABS needs sensors for wheel speed, something RC cars don’t have.
“These sensors monitor the rotational speed of each wheel and can update their readings hundreds to thousands of times per second. This high-frequency data is essential for the ABS system to detect any wheel lock-up situations and adjust braking pressure accordingly”
Will ABS on an RC car stop you from locking up? Yes
Will a ABS on RC car with no wheel sensors have a shorter braking distance than a RC with the correct brake set up? No
