- Some stills and video of the last sail of 2021 for me. Refurbished the cabin with new paint and carpet in the foredeck storage area. Installed a pair of deck cleats on the cabin roof which serve two purposes; organizing the halyards, holding the jib sheets for that extra few degrees when on a close haul and hanging bumpers when docked.

The boat looks great! I just acquired a Com-Pac 16 and looking to redo the cabin. What did you use for the walls? Mine has carpet looking to replace it. Thanks!
I found some leftover indoors paint. Scrapped/scored the factory paint that was on there. Primed it and painted with the two colors I found. One part of the cabin is white and one is an off white/biege. Threw some old office carpet pieces and boom! New cabin
Just picked up a mint CP 16. Can't wait to take her out! All the best from Northern California
You gotta be excited. Good luck and have fun.
Is it possible to get a couple of close up pictures of your mast cam cleat setup? Looks like a good design for raising and lowering the sails from the cockpit. Thanks.
Thanks. Yes, it is the perfect set up for single handing in the Compac 16. Let me see if I have any pics of it stored somewhere. I don't have access to the boat right now. Basically, I replaced the horn cleats with two Ronstan Swivel Cleats. THey are pricey but worth it. Then I installed two horn cleats on the cabin deck to use as bumper cleats and also to organize halyards in the cockpit. If I can't find a closeup of the system, my next best suggestion would be to look at some of my other more recent videos to see if there are any closeups in those.
Like the Ronstans. On order. Thanks.
Great family activity.
Way cool!
I like your efforts put in on your ComPac. Especially nice job on the cabin. Enjoy.
Thanks. I just wish I had more time to work on it
This is a nice compac 16 I cam wait for the moment of have my in water my kids ask when Is that day they see you video and say let’s go finish we want to like we want to go to sailing but still have work to rebuild my we like your video and take inspiration from you thank you
Glad you liked the video. I hope it does motivate you to get out there and sail. It can be a lot of work but ends up being worth it for sure.
@@SailingrumrunnerII thank you I really put all my hard in this boat I have the support of my family and friends and keep up with you videos they really gives inspiration thank you
@@julioandyoly9468 I saw some of your videos. You’re really putting a lot into it. Doing it right, from the ground up. Keep us updated when you get it on the water
Looks great! My guess is the sails have been replaced?
I think so. They were with the boat when I bought it two years ago. They aren’t new but probably have some life left in them.
Don't you love the trolling motor? Peace and quiet. I just bought a 62lb. thrust trolling motor for my Com-Pac 23. It works in the right conditions. I'm teaching my kids to sail. It's a real confidence/character builder. 👍🏼#19 Yeah, I watching my way through your channel, LOL.
Hey. Yeah it is great to have but I do know it's limits. Found out the hard way... LOL! It's good for calm conditions and necessary for me to dock in that narrow cove. I've considered upgrading to more powerful one. How does the 62lber do on your 23? Glad you like the channel.
Nice work, your boat looks great.
Thanks
Nice. I had to clean mine up a lot too when I got it, but I didn't get the inside as nice as you! I might put some cleats in like that too. Theres pretty much none on this boat. lol Thanks for sharing.
I was lucky as my cabin was not totally rotted out. Had the original factory paint which was ugly dark gray and peeling. I sanded and repainted with colors I had laying around the basement.
The cleats have come in very handy and I use them for multiple tasks. Highly recommend
I have a 16 ft too It s a nice boat.
