The older Schrade knives made of 1095 are some good rugged knives. I have the SCHF54M and it's been working out fine for me for several years now. I got it for under $40 back around 7 years ago now., and it's held up to everything I've thrown at it.

I want to grind off that mid grip jimping and soften the thump ramp buuuut its a great blade for the dollars. I used wilson wrap on the handle until I grind it.
