The fact she couldn't lie, and this was all how she really feels 😭 hits different

She feels like that because she's been lied to tho.

@willkoestner4159 lieing is apart of human nature. The whole point is, if everyone told the truth, nobody would really be happy

That role had to be interesting as hell, just the way you have to think and work through things in such an alien way.

Jennifer Garner nailed that moment. Her response had subtleties that were very hard to produce.

    Very under rated movie

I absolutely love this scene. Great moment of a female character actually learning and changing. He looks away, and the camera stays on her as she makes the crucial mental leap all on her own. I've often complained that what female characters need isn't attention but agency, and this is a great little example of a woman adjusting her own reality according to new priorities.

The world I live in is full of people that tell lies

It is interesting he was not able to get a girl, until he was able to lie to her.

Not definitively, maybe he could have got her by being honest! I know quite a few people who would have used lying to achieve their conquests in his situation!

He never lies to her. He simply gained confidence! Him spending time with her was what made her love him in the end.

This movie is like Ricky gervais fat boy fantasy with the skinny people being wooden stick figures around him. It's a chick flick but he's the chick.

Romantic comedies are not the way to make use appreciate truth. This scene is a lie. It's a fantasy. It makes you appreciate fantasy movies instead of lying.

I think you need to put "IMO" in front of your comment?
You obviously have a limited concept of beauty.
She has strong features, not everyone needs to have a smooth symetrical oval face, assymetric and quirky is often more interesting and attractive.
Maybe you also don't appreciate cubism or any form of non representational art?

I just don't see the difference between her and Ricky, she is better looking than Ricky and they are implying that she is a perfect beauty. And there are enough guys who like other guys, manly strong facial notes
