You might remember at the fairs the direct photo booths that existed. I remember here in Dallas, TX the State Fair over 40 years ago, they had photo booth of "Come get your picture took!" signage. I was enthralled by the chemistry of photo reversal process. Later I found out the negative was exposed then developed behind what I guessed was the dark room, the photo would pop out of a slot, where the counter person in the front would grab this darken piece of photo paper thereby exposing it to the ambient light then would immerse this photo into tray 1 with developer, I surmised, then tray 2 stop bath, and tray 3 I guessed was the hypo bath to bring the positive image forward and "fix" the image from degrading. I never guessed the developer was Caffenol-C developer. Fascinating!
How long did you expose? Sounds like it's completely under-exposed. (over-exposure causes too dark images while under-exposure causes too bright images)
Both are the same. Perhaps there are some differences but hardly noticeable. Using Caffenol is really magic!! Incredible!! and almost no cost per roll or sheet of paper.
hi i live in England and i carn't find washing soda in the shops , but i can find soda crystals what is sodium carbonate decohydrate. would this still work ?
john iveson yes it will, i use it as well but you have to powderize it, for example in blender. It is bacause some bigger crystals are like rocks and won’t disolve in water,
Hello.. I have a harman positive paper after trying it for the first time by taking a picture through the hole camera after the development with caffeinol, the image appeared, but I was really shocked by what I saw because the surprise is that it appeared negative and not a positive image at all.. The strange thing is that the image is new in pink color.. In fact, I did not find An explanation for this is likely that there is a manufacturing error or commercial fraud. I did not understand what happened to me, in fact, who has an explanation or clarification, leave the comments with thanks.
It was not too obvious since fixer usually is in a tray, but the photo was so small so I did not bother :) I use Ilford Rabid Fix, don't know of any simple home made receipes
Thanks! Great way to reduce caffeine intake as well.
Cheers mate this is really helpful for me!

rgoidel aßp4rrrrrrrrrrsàd
when you were done was that water you put it in (the cup?)
Thanks enjoyed,love the music.
In order to develop one roll only, I suppose the amounts of components can be proportionally reduced, Am I correct?
It's pink!! Ideas as to why we keep getting pink paper after developing?

(over-exposure causes too dark images while under-exposure causes too
bright images)
Turning pink is a sign it has not been fixed enough
How does this process compare to using the "proper" chemicals?
Both are the same. Perhaps there are some differences but hardly noticeable. Using Caffenol is really magic!! Incredible!! and almost no cost per roll or sheet of paper.
I guess this works on regular "negative" paper, as well?
+Tommi Katajisto sorry for the late reply. Yes it will.

is it just soda? or it has to be washing soda?
Must be wahing soda
Dieter Schneider or just heat up some baking soda cuz washing soda is soda ash
hey can you help me, i want to overexpose by 4 stops how do i do this? im using expired film does it mean i should let it sit longer in the chemical?
no, you give the paper more exposure by opening up the aperture 4 stops or using a shutter speed 4 stops slower than what the meter indicates
Robert Korn thank you

cineast o photographer ?
fixed ok, in minute?
Just a question.... no fixer?
+Thiagones Fixer is in the glass at 3.46
Oh, got it haha... what do you use for fixer? Do you know about any home made recipe?
It was not too obvious since fixer usually is in a tray, but the photo was so small so I did not bother :) I use Ilford Rabid Fix, don't know of any simple home made receipes
Ammonia can be used for fixer too
I would definitely stay away from ammonia. It's very poisonous and fixer is very cheap anyway
works 35mmfilm?
yes
no
Maybe
Better to use Nikon F or Minox LX cameras, develop film in Caffenol and then print on photographic paper!!
