- Threw on some spacers and adjusted the front camber plates to give the car a more aggressive setup!
Wheel Specs:
17x9 +20 - 215/40 tires
Front: +0 w/ 20mm spacers

What brand are the spacers? I might have missed it if you said. Keep us posted on how the usage on the spacers goes. BTW, the difference in poke between the pass & driver side front is typical of our car, mine has the same.

I'm seeing this vid a bit late, but thought you might like to know that 7th gen Celicas all have that odd different offset in the front. The passenger side sticks out more than the drivers side from the factory, but most people don't notice it until going with aggressive fitment.
Hmm strange, some people are saying it’s normal some are saying it’s not. Why would Toyota do that though?
@@equinoxgts It may only be on certain years and due to displacement of weight based on complete specs and tolerances of each model due to weight gain & reduction in various components. Toyota has some of the best engineers in the world and doesn't do things for no reason. Also, I used to do the big socal meets with over 100 celicas at a time showing, and there is no other reason that more than 30% of the owners would have noticed this detail if it wasn't a factory thing.

I got them from eBay! Check out one of my previous videos I had a link for it. 👍🏽 maybe go with the authentic jdm side markers for your color? They are a darker amber color, not completely smoked out.

No idea, everything’s trial and error and also depends on how low you are. However you can look up the wheel fitment guide on the celica forums that someone made many years ago, extremely useful.

Depends how low you go and what tire size you’re running. I was able to run 9 with 20 offset with rolled fenders, but I did have stretched tires

It's been like a year since this video came out but what rim size should I be looking at if I want to go from the stock 15" rims to some custom 16" rims. what specifically should I look for
Stock wheels are 16s, you should look for 17s or 18s
@@equinoxgts From what I looked up the stock rim size on the 2000 toyota celica gt is 195/60R15 which are the same size as the tires I just got. I looked into 17 but most forums said that 17 and up can create a lot of rubbing especially if you live in a bumpy area.
Oh maybe the GTs are 15 idk. 17s and 18s look way better and rubbing issues all depend on your offset, tire size and how low you are. There’s a wheel fitment guide on newcelica.org that is super useful when it comes to deciding what wheel setup you’re looking for.

I love driving it, it is my daily too lol. It’s nice and small but it’s also comfortable and i think it’s definitely a great commuter car. And it’s a hatch so it has a ton of trunk space!

If you still have the oem hood, it should have a sticker under it that actually shows you how to do it.

@@equinoxgts so the pattern is the same on the aftermarket wheel? Isnt it 2 different lug patterns?? Would you know if the same hubcentric rings apply if I were to get a wheel adapter 5x100 to 5x114.3? Have 17s as well.
Well they fit both 100 and 114.3 but the cars bolt pattern itself is 5x100 so I went with a 100 adapter. Bolt pattern doesn’t affect hub centric ring size, just make sure you know the hub size of the aftermarket wheels. Celica hubs are 54.1 so you’ll need a ring that goes from *hub size of aftermarket wheel* to 54.1

By running 17x9 25 offset do I need spacer for front and back. I'm leaving 2'' off the tires.

Hey dude I've never ran spacers before or done anything to match fitment or played with wheel sizes. I just want to ask, is it worth it?? I have an 04 vibe GT with the 2ZZ-GE motor. And I wouldn't mind a little wider tires but it seems like a lot of hassle to get the fender rolling and camber right. IDK how you drive your car, but I drive like a fucking hoon. And pretty much launch my car at every red light and I'm over 6000rpm more times than Im under 3000rpm. I have upgraded axles and suspension parts on the stock motor so I'm not worried about breaking anything, and not like hard wheel hop/wheel spin launches, but once I'm going about 5mph I give the beans.. I am hesitant to use spacers because I feel like a hoon will rip them boys off. Also I have a hard time figuring out where it will rub. The last thing I want is an ongoing project... I picked Toyota because of reliability (even tho it's a Pontiac lol it's a Toyota on the inside) your car looks thicc af but would you do it all again? Or just keep the OEM wheels and driveability
It’s all personal preference, oem is too thin anyways. Yes I would do this again, this car is more form over function. If you care about looks then get a set of spacers or if you’l don’t trust spacers, get a set of wheels with the correct spec

Very reliable, however, obviously you gotta take care of it too. The most common issue is the timing chain cover gasket needs to be replaced , but that just bc of how old the car is now.

Yo help a fellow noob out, what should I do with my 00 Celica GT, it is auto sadly, and everything is stock. Jus bought it , most people telling me I can’t do much since it’s a auto . Give me at least some suggestions :) love yo build so far btw 🖤
If you’re going for looks, you can lower it, get some wheels and an exhaust. If you want to have fun, then a GT-S 6 speed manual swap would be the way to go!
But make sure you do the maintenance first! I believe the 00-02 GT are notorious for burning oil.

Yes they do, they came with them but I chose not to put them on bc they protruded too far out and it looked ugly.

Jeeze, whoever did your alignment sucks at their job. I hate it most when alignment shops cannot completely zero the toe, just hitting the "recommended areas" is lazy work. It needs to be 0.00 degrees, not 0.01 not 0.02! You can totally feel the sloppiness of not completely zero'ing the front toe.
Just finished watching the video and saw the uneven wheel offset thing.
Do you know if your car has been in any accidents? Maybe check your wheel size a second time just to make sure they're the actual same sizes. They are reps so I'm not sure how good of a quality control the company does on their products. I'm not sure running different spacers would be good for driving because of unsprung mass and rotational force affects the physics of your car and barring as they wouldn't be even. Anyway, I hope you figure out, thanks for all the updates.

The car hasn’t been in an accident and I do agree with you that it’s probably bc they are reps, the same thing happened on my first Celica where the front passenger side stuck out a bit more.

@@equinoxgts Lol it's all good. I don't think you do anything crazy so a very specific alignment isn't going to hurt you. But yeah next time you go make sure to tell the tech to get it flat zero.
I think the uneven fitment would bug the shit out of me. Look into it like the frames & under the car/inside the engine bay because if your car is straight it shouldn't be like that.

I got my alignment done the other day at a different shop since my front toe was way off bc of the camber plate adjustments, the toe is now at 0° 😎

if your suspension is taking a big hit or you have to take a corner really har and your rear shocks compress and the spring doesnt keep the shock out enough your wheel will get cut by your fender and your tire may pop...
thats why in germany and austria your car has the pass a test before you are legally allowed to drive a different offset with a custom suspension.
its not because its ugly with it is but its also dangerous. #fixyourfitment
and maxing out your camber will fix nothing. your car will drive like shit and you ruin the hole point of the suspension
