Sadly, every time I've had a game where I was doing heavy spotting and torpedo harassing and getting in the occasional salvo of opportunity, I got called a coward and a lazy player who doesn't know how to DD properly.
I learned years ago to (a) not read in-game chat all that often, and (b) ignore most of what I do read. I mean, a whole lot of people don't make the time to understand how to play all the classes in the game.
Don’t let that bother you. I too have had the same experience. And everyone wants you to CAP and I’ve learned to wait to see what and who the enemy is beforehand. I let my team know that I will scout first, because as you know, so often the go off somewhere else and leave you on your own.
Raptor already said what I was going to say. What annoys me most is when you get the back-of-the-map camping battleship player, refusing to support destroyers and cruisers playing the objective, but top of the losing team on points, blaming his team for the loss. I used to never use the “report” button. But I am using it more and more for the chat haters.
3 v 3 Brawl T10 DDs is active now and just put the Legendary Modular on her and played the first match ever on this ship in anything other than Co-op. Big silly grin on my face now and a big thank you, brother!
Great video! This is a Team win. Love the Gearing. Usually do good in it. Playing smart, and staying alive until the end usually means you win! o7 Sea Raptor!
This is how I play DDs. And it's why I only have double digit karma numbers. Fellow players just don't appreciate how key a solid DD game is to the overall win. Very glad we're at least getting credit for spotting now!
Just want to say that I have used this strategy, not only on this map, but on others, in everything from Mahan right up the US DD line, and sometimes I get lucky and make it work at Tier 5 and 6 in the Nicholas, Hill and Farragut. I've come close to "Combat Scout" 3-times, but I've always fallen short. It'll happen. Just have to get the right sort of team behind me.
That is a very nice game. But I wonder how many of your team actually knew and understood how much you were contributing to the win. I'll bet more than a few were thinking you were just hanging out on the edge and not doing anything. I was actually surprised you did not get razed in chat about getting in the fight and doing something.
Great vid, thanks for sharing! I cant have the mods that you have in game anymore with modstation since the last update, i can see them still but cant activate them, how could i get them back ?
I'm not sure. I've heard that some underlying change in the game UI broke a lot of the side panel mods that players used. Aslain has added most of them back into his mod pack, though they apparently aren't fully functional. Pretty sure I saw WG say this issue would be resolved next patch, but don't quote me on that.
Beautifully tactical game. I honestly envy the skill it takes to play like this. I am the furthest thing from a DD main but I do like to play them, both gun boats and torp boats. But you can only play games like these when there are no CV's around. Now imagine a Malta being called upon to scout for that DD that is making everyone's life miserable on the East flank. 😂 This takes nothing away from your game, which I hope to emulate one day. 👍
@@SeaRaptor Not to mention subs spotting you and pinging you and generally ruining your day (or evening!) Especially now with the guided missile British torps. Grrr...
At the end you are saying you did your job, well actually just in a side note a DD main challenge is capping in domination imagine if all DDs went too flanks and ignored caps, plus the capping is the hardest and most risk taking, I have seen a lot of DD players with good stats but they never cap unless they know all enemy ships are dead that side pretty lane if you ask me.
The caps on Haven are a death trap for destroyers right out of the gate. By the time I was in a position where I might have been able to influence the C cap nearest me - i.e. after the Annapolis was dead - it was already in our hands due to the Z-44 and the guys backing him up.
@@SeaRaptor I wasnt trying to attack you sorry if it came across that way, I am just saying that the hardest part of playing a DD well in Domination is cap control and a lot of good DD players will never enter caps. I have a lot of respect for you and everything you do in the War gaming community, I use too play on the NA Server quite often with you but now I am in the Europe server, keep up the good work and I love watching your streams for KOTS.
@@BasJon No worries, no offense taken or anything. Cap control in domination games is a big part if a DDs job, the key is knowing when (and when NOT) to go for it. Rarely is that moment right at the beginning of the game.
Playing for the win, not damage. You were also holding the opposing team out of the center of the map on that flank. Essentially “capturing” an area of the map without getting CAP credit. No practical way to award points for that, but improved spotting damage credit is a start.
This match really highlights how terribly broken the binary concealment system is in the game. It really should be reworked...but WG is incompetent at game balancing.

That 6% fire on the second salvo was to show us this was a blessed game 🤭😁
Just found your channel from that Jingles vid, def here to stay though! Great gameplay!
Awesome! Thank you!

I play a legendary Gearing. Getting back into DDs. Good video.
Thank you!
I sure hope all those DD drivers out there watch this and learn!!!!
Thanks!
cool game, and most definitely, food for thought..!! 👍💭👌
I got the Gearing and Legendary upgrade last week, and I think I'll play her instead of Halland this coming Clan Battles.

You are correct about the CV. With a carrier in the gsme I have to play quite differently.

1m credits....wow...cc flags ?
the most notable thing is that the gearing got skinny. Old fat gearing was honestly a drag to play
I can't disagree. Maybe I'm finally noticing the positive impacts of the new hull model she got last year.
Gearing iss solid
Always has been!
