So Graham Norton is the risqué 'prequel' to The Graham Norton Show. So Graham Norton aired from 1998 - 2002 and encouraged guests to partake in a range of wild activities and candid conversation. - Розваги
I love how Stephen and Graham have the exact same energy today that they always had.
if we believe him, Stephen has given up coke since.
And I bloody loathe the pair of them and won't watch TV to see them snorting the license tax.
@@markgrieves1307 Watched this though, didn't you?
@@markgrieves1307 good trolling try. Who is so enormously stupid that they click on a video where the title clearly states two of (many I guess😁) the people they hate is the main content of it 😂❤️❤️❤️
It's almost like they're the same people they've always been
I have never been bored by something Stephen fry is talking about. He always has an interesting anecdote. Amazing guy.
I'm always amazed by the irony of programmes and channels that censor swear words in a discussion about the absurdity of censoring swear words.
When this first aired it wasn't censored. I've got this episode on VHS from the 90's!
@@vermilliongecko wow. That's even stranger then! Have we become more sensitive towards certain worda that were ok to say 20 years ago?!
It is so (blieb) hypocrite.
Think it's something to do with UA-cam's monetization. They demonetize videos based on how frequently you swear and how bad the swears are so most uploaders bleep it out to be safe. Frankly I think it's ridiculous that people have to do that but it's the world we live in I guess
@Kevin L It's not confusing, it's ironic.
'The fact that we find it disgusting, is disgusting, not the word' YES!
Stephen Fry is just so adorable. ♥️
Wow, Graham has aged very gracefully. I think he looks better now than he did more than twenty years ago.
1998 fashion helped absolutely nobody, but yeah, he looks good now.
Correct. He's aged into beauty.
The hairstyle and sideburns didn’t do him well
His face looked better back then, but his haircut and outfit were awful. He styles himself way better now.
Stephen makes a brilliant point which is still valid today, all these years later!
If only he ever had a unique thought and didn't just regurgitate someone else's at every given opportunity, and in the most pompous way possible.
@@megaangelic
Twaddle. He’s a prolific author and orator. Where’s all your tomes, debates and addresses filled with your original thoughts?
As for pompous, hardly. Did you not listen to this clip? He’s the one rejecting the unreasoned pomposity of others.
@@Elephantstonica You've never read anything he's written have you? It's all regurgitation just as this speach is a regurgitation of someone else's rejection the unreasoned pomposity... He's literally just quoting the entire time.
I feel it's even weirder in the US where it gets censored in print and video but people say it without any problem ad nauseam.
Seeing this old Norton set reminds me of how the Tardis interior changes over time. Similar, but different.
I remember So Graham Norton. Never watched it. Now, after watching a good portion of the Graham Norton Show episodes, I wish I had tuned in all those years ago. You could tell he was a legend, even then.
I watched it back in the day and it was really great. Good Friday night laugh.
His “I found this on the internet stuff” was hilarious and the time he was speaking to a guy in one of those human gyroscope gym equipment things and it went very wrong was tear inducing.
Stephen absolutely has a point: Why is a pleasant and vital activity a substitute for “damn” in the English language?
Religion.
It's not a substitute here in Scotland, we use the word 'fuck' or 'fuckin....' as a verbal comma 😂.....most of us I'd say.
Fuck is a very versatile word. It's an exclamation, a verb, an intensifier, a noun etc
@@sexysadie2901 why?
@@sexysadie2901 Ummm, that has nothing to do with religion...or Gertrude's meaning. She meant why do we use the f-word when we do something like drop things, get into a fender bender, wonder why someone is doing/saying something stupid, i.e. WTF.
Aww. Down the nostalgia drain I'll go. One of the most memorable teenage years' TV companions, this show.
@Jemppu I don't know why, but I read your comment in Graham Norton's voice!
Friday nights, Channel 4, Chinese takeaway with friends, and this after Friends but before some Chinese martial arts movie at 1am ❤️
Stephen's always thinking - and a great thinker he is.
Probably one of the smartest people on earth.
It's not just organs of generation. It's also bodily waste that is largely demonised in our language. All swear words seem to come from sex, genitalia and lower body waste products like urine and faecal matter. It's interesting that they tend to be Anglo-Saxon words, as Stephen pointed out. It reminds me of the Firefly series, where they swear in Chinese.
Give over 🤣
@@WestCoastWilliam Justin did say "one of"...
@@WestCoastWilliam He's definitely in the top 1-2%. I'd say that easily qualifies as "one of the smartest"
God, I love Stephen Fry!
Took me almost the entire clip to realise the lady was _the_ Lorraine who hosts the chat show.
She’s my aunts best friend.
@@vaguemartin is she? Aye?
I'm happy seeing these old clips. It's just saddening how time ages us.
What a fascinating conversation. Stephen makes perfect sense.
Lorraine Kelly hasn’t changed a bit! Amazing.
Wonderful women for sure.
How on earth do you have these in such good quality? Please post every episode forthwith and then all from V Graham Norton, thanking you muchly.
I heart Graham Norton's show: so much more eloquently entertaining than the more staid and phoney American ones!
Ah the good old days of So Graham Norton 😊
He really does just make everything better!
Ahh Stephen...a fucking legend
Early Graham Norton was the best 👌🏻
oh wow. graham norton early days. never thought i would see this. amazing
You have to check him out on Father Ted (comedy tv show) if you haven't seen it! He plays *the* most annoying af priest lol. I think he did that before any of his talk shows.
My goodness he can afford an apartment in both London and New York . Oh what times , so jealous
He made a fortune from a West-End stage show
They all look so fresh and young!🤣🤣🤣
*Wiantjie1989* - Didn't we all, luvvy!
The brilliant Stephen Fry
Graham looks so young and innocent! Well…young anyways….I doubt he was ever THAT innocent. 🤪🎉
My thoughts exactly.
Word. All word. In the truest sense of the fucking word.
IMDB says this show ran from 1998 - 2002 not a large window another YT video indicated it was sept. 98
This Stephen Fry gives me Robert California vibes
Wow, so weird - it aired one day before i was born. The three of them havent changed that much.
Could you put original air dates on please
It's in the description 7 8 98
@@eninc928 it is now it wasn't before
Such baby faces!
Fry rules!
I didn't know there was a third in what can be called the "Concerning Language" series (the first downy growth on the upper lip of..)
Could you please add information about when and where these videos are from and maybe the people in the video, in the description?
Season 1 Episode 6. Aired 7 August 1998. Thanks for the suggestion!
@@SoGrahamNorton thank you for accepting my suggestion. 🥰
RIP Barry Cryer
@@Kazza_8240 Irrelevant? Stephen Fry refers to Barry Cryer in the interview.
surreal
Great fucking conversation.
Graham pricked up his ears at that, it was only a tiny cockup afterall he said!!
What computer is that on the desk? Very ahead of its time design wise for 98
That's hilarious, the old PC just on the desk in the background.
Only Graham's looking significantly different today than Lorraine and Stephen now. 🤣
The beard makes a grand distinction!
What? Look up the most recent GN with a greying and grey bearded Stephen Fry...he looks just as different
Does anyone know what Stephen says at the very end? I'm trying to work it out, but it's bleeped out too well for my hearing!
Well this is quite the time capsule.
When SF finished up and Graham tee'd it up perfectly for Lorraine. She could have said anything. Even just 'fuck' and it would have brought the house down.
I thought this was going to be about the village in Austria
The glory days of "that village in Austria" are over, I'm afraid. They changed the spelling to Fugging because it was getting too expensive to replace the stolen roadsigns.
0:58 1:58 2:33 2:44 3:16 3:39
Title could do with some use/mention distinction.
What universe is this?
Word magic that is why we have spelling.
Date of broadcast?

@@SoGrahamNorton 👍🏻.
90s at graham norton's looks like 70s. lmao
Lorraine looks fit as fuck here
My dad had a shirt like that in the 90s. It was Lacoste, Ralph Lauren, or Benetton. I can't remember.
Why these two do not a whole channel devoted to them?
Like Dave? QI is on Dave all the time.
(Dave is a uk tv channel btw)
Não sabia que o Stephen Fry torcia pro Fluminense
If Stephen Fry can f***, it demonstrates that where there is life there is hope
does graham not age?
He ages wonderfully.
Averge looking 30year old.
One of the hottest 50year olds and not from surgery.
How incredibly old is this? First gen Graham?
After when he was on Father Ted I'm sure
1998, so just after he was Father Noel Furlong on Father Ted.
Lorraine looks and sounds the same 24 years later.
Yeah false
@@Ridersonthestorm8899 okay
Lorraine Kelly was a ride then.
She was in fairness.
🤣 spot the Scotsperson
'A ride' 😂
@@Kazza_8240 I know you'd rather not assume their gender but I think in this case we can safely assume it's a Scotsman rather than a Scotswoman
@@jamesdettmann94 I wasn't even thinking about gender tbh, just pointing out a fellow 'Scotsperson' lol, I dont even know why I phrased it like that, to be perfectly honest with you 🤷🏼♀️😂 I woulda just said 'Scot', but some people dont know that means Scottish.
Edit - gender, and 'pronouns' dont have to come into everything do they? I was just making a light hearted comment, someone will be offended if you mention it, someone will be offended if you don't. I know you probably didn't mean your reply as an attack or some shit, but fuuuuuck, I'm not trying to argue with you personally either, it's just these days man, there's always SOMEONE *looking* to be offended. (Again - not aimed at you, just venting)
@@Kazza_8240 We say it just as much here in Ireland.
Is his nose broken or what cause wow.
No, he's just English.
Isn't that because those words are vulgar and so by using them you mean to offend someone?
Lorraine Kelly.
Wait, is Graham Norton secretly Nardwuar?
Does anyone else think that Graham has toned down the "Gayness" in recent years? 🤣
@@ens0246 Fair play that's probably true haha
And Lorraine proceeds to spank Noel Fielding on NMTB.
G so much better looking and funnier now.
90's lorraine kelly is a fucking snack mind
Kinda shows if you use a posh accent you can say anything
Lorraine has aged amazingly.
This is really deep.
can we talk about the tiny tiara lorraine is wearing
It's unacceptable that even when speaking about ducking the Great Stephen Fry sounds so Ducking intelligent and ducking correct.
I'm very disappointed, I was hoping to hear his views on fishing.
The way he broke the spine on that book was awful
As a book lover I died a little when I saw that.
When Graham used to be edgy
Which is worse? Stephen's shirt, or Lorraine's entire 90s getup??
Tiaras weren't a 90's thing btw, I think that was a joke, otherwise....
*meow* 🐱
coked up
Why does Lorraine always look the same age?
Two end of a community gays, seemingly believing they're the most valuable people in the community.
Many a gay man would be happy to sandwiched between them.🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Stephen Fry hinted at wanting to liberate the word "f***", but instead he wants to liberate the degradation and pollution of the word by using it as linguistic sewage. We don't say, we wouldn't say, "sleeping stupid" or "a eat-up". Fry is dead wrong.
you are a sad little individual, aren't you?
@bobby macallister if he/she/other is a sad individual or not I can't say, but he/she/other is wrong in his/her/other argument tho.
Do you really have the opinion you say here? Then, if you nodded off, one could say "sleeping stupid" 😴😁
But surely the more the word is used, the less shock value it has.
..or his philosophies on that were still forming at that point in time.
