- 'Thief' by The New Shining is the 6th single from their new album 'Antidote'. 'Antidote' is the 7th studio album of this Dutch 3 piece band.
'Singer/guitarist/songwriter 'Nax' struggled with depression for over 20 years. He and his band The New Shining are passionate about mental illness awareness. By writing music he gives a voice to 'the invisibles', the people that struggle, suffer and fight courageously in silence.

Depression robs you of joy, steals what makes you 'You' and casts a shadow over your life. It poisons everything you are, feel and do.
Just like when people you love, you trust, betray you and take advantage of you. It's traumatising. Beware of the Thief that comes to steal and destroy.

duuuude. i just thought this was a "relationship" song. it didn't occur to me until i read the description, how it really does fit with depression, too. that's some clever songwriting.
