The songs are only the same in using the line "I Can See Clearly Now". Anyway, the writers could not come up with a good bridge for the song, so at the time they asked a 14 year old for help, Grace. This song was being rewritten and she was invited by adult professional songwriters to finish it with them and she decided to sing it when they were finished. Your use to reacting to kids singing Gold records from the past and Grace is mostly singing her own songs so she may not impress you as much as someone singing a Elvis hit. Everyone loves Grace but in the end they go right back to doing the kids that do covers of old hit songs. Another upbeat song that always uplifts me when I'm a little down is 'Florets' written at 13yrs, and speaking as a musician, it is my favorite of all her songs. Fun fact- that chorus you hear in the background is actually Grace and her producer layering their voices.
It's funny she had 2 have a choir, then she does all the singing. Also she threw in an out of tune choir member to make it more realistic.
