So many hotspots! I never even thought of buying hotspots from different individual providers. I use HomeFi which also connects with different providers from the same device. It's been a lifesaver.
I use HomeFi too and I really like it compared to other alternatives i've tried, and its really the easiest and fastest portable internet option out there!

While our full-time rv life requires comfortable shoes and proper operating room scrubs, we still enjoy good internet in our downtime, so I'll definitely look into this since we all know the campground wifi nightmare 😀 😉. Thanks for the info.

Can you aggregate Starlink in as well? i.e can you plug in the Ethernet from Starlink into their router and set it for a priority? I have to have pure VPN connectivity. Being an IT network engineer I also high speed TCP connection. I'm looking at a Pepwave with fusion.....
That is a great question but unfortunately way above our heads. I would recommend reaching out to customer service to get that answered!

Whole Foods discovered back in 2012 you can raise prices and still increase ur costumer base with superior costumer Service.
I would rather pay a higher price any day and have great customer service!
Are you using the Connecten exclusively or are you still using any of the other hotspots? Does your Starlink connect to the Connecten via a wan connection and also become part of the same network or are you switching between the two different WiFi networks (Connecten / Starlink) based on which service is better still? Also, I require continuous connectivity to my companies VPN (as you stated you do also) just wanted to confirm this is working well without the need for the backup hotspots. Thank you.
We have been using only Connecten for the last 3 months where we have cellular coverage. We have not tried to connect Starlink to the Connecten router as have the routers in separate areas. That is a great question that would probably be best answered by ConnecTen customer service.
I can't believe they would design that without automatic fail over. T-Mobil gets congested? It should automatically switch over to the next best provider without having to call them.
Correct. You can also call them to lock to a particular network. For more information should you need it - call the customer service number in the video.
Sounds good. However. Who determines the signal strength? Does the system switch automatically between carriers or is it always something you have to call on? How carrier proof is the hardware with carriers updating their equipment with new generations?

This sounds like my TravelFI service. I loved it at the NASCAR race until it the parking filled up and I couldn't get anything to work on any of the three services. I am like you, I have to have internet for work. I love the idea of the free modem, but I like that TravelFi will let me cut it on and off when I am not using it (Not full time RVer). Does Connecten do that? Thanks for the video
Correct - similar service but with much better customer service. No matter which company, congestion will always be an issue when cell towers are overloaded. NASCAR events even kill Starlink 🤣🤣
As for pausing service, I believe you can but would advise calling customer service to confirm.

@@liferedesigned Thank you!!! I haven't had to deal with customer service yet.. but I am sure I will eventually. I decided to not take the chance the day of the race and took off that day (I work every weekend). But I can work the rest of my work week and get a 16 day trip and only have to take off 2-3 days. It's amazing to be able to do this. I finally got to tour and vide my dream GD today, the new 22BHE and I cannot wait to get out there in it next year!!
Yes we offer a pause service at a small fee.

Still works flawlessly! My work does utilize a VPN connection and have not had any issues. We have been all over the place without interruptions - great company and great service!
Can't StarLink be used exclusively? Or do you not want to keep setuping the antenna? Or is there another reason?
There is a few issues with using Starlink everywhere- it depends on where we stay. Tree coverage can be an issue a lot of places - we use it as a backup for when there is no cellular coverage
How much does it cost for the device, the hardware, and what is your monthly fee? I seem to have missed that somewhere.

Ok...I am a little bit confused on how this works...So its basically an independent wireless data service that uses all the data servers. So the $120 a month unlimited from Connecten will connect to every server regardless of if we are that services customer or not?. I am curious how Connecten can just connect to the networks without that contract obligation that accompanies the data plans. So...if my Verizon cell phone doesn't have a enough of a signal...but say T-Mobile or Patriot Mobile does, the router will snipe into the T-Mobile data stream and give me internet...even though I dont have a T-mobile account?
Correct- they have contracts to work with t-mobile, Verizon and AT&T
We take up the burden of the contracts with the carriers, and you can cancel anytime, not that you'd want to.
This is really nothing new. They are really just an aggregator of different carriers. We pay far less for unlimited services directly with 2 nationwide carriers and in 2.5 years and 28,000 miles across the country several times, we have never had an issue unless we were in a place with zero cell coverage.
Hey Ken- 2 carriers, and under $99 for unthrottled and unlimited internet? Please share as many of us could use that deal!
But it will depend on providers, using just T-Mobile and Verizon won’t cut it. We have been in many location where neither worked
@@liferedesigned We have unlimited 4G coverage with our WG GW for just over $20 a month and T-Mobile Home for 550 a month. We have only been to 1 place in our travels that we had zero to little service. Now like anything else, its about the kind of camping you do. Lots of boondocking on BLM, then Starlink is probably a must...and even perhaps a great backup to cellular in the off times you might need it. I think the best solution all depends on how you travel, camp, needs and budget.

Depends on the company and the deal they have worked out. You would be surprised at how 2 devices from 2 different companies can perform from the same tower

Does connecten actually make/design this device and provide the service or are they just resellers? There are a few companies that sell the exact same unit and it looks like the service actually comes from a different company completely. Travlfi or starlink seem more reputable since they actually make their router and provide the service directly.
Great question. Since the service is with all 3 major carriers in one device, you are working with a third party supplier for service. Travelfi does a similar service as a third party supplier.
Starlink is satellite- far different from 5G service.
We use Connecten exclusively for 5G coverage needs and Starlink for areas where 5G is not within reach.
I would also recommend researching Travlfi a bit more as their website only mentions 4g coverage and has throttled data speeds after 800gb.

I was just curious about connecten because i have seen the exact same router sold under a few different names (MR40 router) and providing almost identical pricing for plans but I couldn't figure out who the root company was. I have been burned by a few "wireless internet" companies before and am more hesitant to buy now. Espcially when I read the terms of service on Connecten's site and they had "insert company name" in a bunch of places like they had just copy and pasted their terms from somewhere else without reading them. TravlFi is owned by Pace which has a very long history in communications and mobile connectivity. But the lack of 5G is really annoying. Although I almost never get 5G on my phone while boondocking. Connectivity is such a headache!!!
Yeah there is a HUGE difference between 4g and 5G speeds. Travlfi also throttles to useless speeds after a certain amount which is a shame.
I 100% need to be connected as that is how I make a living. ConnecTen may not have a polished website but the people running it are amazing - very family focused and honest - we share those values as they are important to us.
At the end of the day, research, research , research!
Hello Friends. So do yall still stick by the product? its been what, about 4 months? how has it been holding up. I'm so tempted to purchase because I truly believe you both. seem like very genuine people and I know yall used to be against ads and promotions and sponsors, so I'm thinking it must really be something yall like to be promoting it. I'd love to hear how its still working for you and where you have had success with it?
