Chris Hadfield is such an amazing man! Had i heard his story when I was younger, I think my life might have panned out differently. But growing up in the UK theres never really been any drive towards space. So happy that theres people like him for the youth of today.
Hey, i am the youth of today who has been touched by this incredible man and now am seriously planning a career in astronautical engineering, spacecraft design or astrophysics and if im very lucky, join esa as an astronaut but like you said the UK government contribute nothing to the optional funding towards esa's human space flight, tim peakes principa mission being a one off. And focuses more on developing the commercial space sector which unfortunately means astronautical opportunities are few and far between for uk citizens, and subsequently i am looking into a duel citizenship for the usa where nasa provides a much more active astronaut campaign but im not sure how much longer that will last, currently nasa and the russian space agency has set and 'end date' for operations on the iss to 2024 after which the russians want to develop their own station, and nasa will have no astronautical opportunities until the ARM asteroid redirect mission around 2025 and after that mars missions

these sound like bright, alert and smart kids. some of these space interview are awkward because some kids have no clue what's going on. they sound lame compared to the kids at C.H School.
The school is not in Sarnia! It is in Milton, where Chris grew up. This was such a phenomenal experience for our kids! I am glad they got to be a part of it.

He did a pretty good job to be honest. I think I would've paniced if I had to try & simplify it for kids but then I only just understand the basics myself
watch the port windows from the start then from 10:24 - 13:14 the window fills up watch in slow mo very odd then after 14:26 the window changes again, these port windows are questionable on a few videos with the lighting behind them and what looks like material on that left one outside??
No, that is not how it works, at 350 km - the altitude of the ISS the force of gravity is still 90% of what we have here on the ground. The weightlessness they feel is the same thing you feel when you jump of a trampoline or go over a crest in a rollercoaster - they are constantly falling, but they move fast enough horizontally to miss the ground (ie: orbital speed).
and he's so humble...I think that's awesome
Well he is a commander and Canadian sooo

clawilewak I’m from England and I want for be an astronaut
I can't watch 10 conseccutive seconds of this without breaking down in tears because of the amazing thing this really is.
Lol breaking down in tears? Its awesome but unless you're up there, breaking out in tears is a little odd.
@Shufei your hero worshipping is getting old...
omg...when the 2nd and 3rd grade girls asked their questions it was so cute!
they sound like minions so cute
This man, one man, could be the inspection for all those kids and be a commander of the ISS, amazing. But, one thing over all, WHO DISLIKED THIS VIDEO
Aliens!
He would be my favourite teacher...
I'm 22 and this was still inspirational.
Why wouldn’t it still be inspirational?
How did it inspire you ?
Are you inspired to hero worship ?
I admire how humble he is and how down to earth he is.
It took 6 years for someone to say this but. That was a very good joke. 10/10
He's such a kid at heart, its great. Love this man
Amazing guy, so inspiring to the kids and so charismatic.
Inspiring in what way ?
To play guitar and make music videos ?
This is a great Human Being.
These kids are beyond adorable :D Commander Hadfield, you should be incredibly proud of inspiring such wonderful minds.
Chris Hadfield for Earth Ambassador!!!
This guy is on Ted ed,he has so many songs,he knows how to play the guitar,he has a school,What does he not have???
his virginity
a soul
a bad personality
He does not have another opportunity to go to space
"We now return you to your regularly scheduled programming." - NASA jokes
I'm gonna laugh if one day a kid asks if the moon landing was a hoax.
But at least kids are not fanatics and will listen.

Kinda the way ya daddy laughed at ya when you piped out huh

Chris is such a fantastic guy. It's people like him that really inspire the next generation of great people.
I really wish I would've paid more attention as a youth and applied myself more. This is incredible.
Such a humble person.

Chris Hadfield kicked the laptop at 7:00
a human playing guitar in a spaceship to the space, that's really awesome !!
astronauts are the best of us, they are the epitome of a life well lived. God bless you commander Hadfield.
Are you done your hero worshipping?
I'm looking forward to the release of your song, Cmdr_Hadfield ... This was great! ♥
When little kid asked about guitar @11:13 he looks straight at guitar. WHERE IS THE TIME DELAY ?
Think its a random glance because he reacts more after actually hearing guitar
Yeah its not a conspiracy but it certainly is weird. It happens in other videos. Like he waves right when the next person starts talking.
@@CousinBowlingYeah I've seen that too, but I've also seen the ISS with my telescope so definitely just some weird coincidences
NASA, Chris Hadfield....'agents of change'!

I was at this school when this happened!

@@edn1573 why is it somehow incredible that someone at the event came to the video recording of said event?
I just dont get tired of watching videos from the ISS o..o
I don’t know why, but I cried watching this video. I’m so happy.
Love this guy. His tweets from the ISS are priceless.Such beautiful pictures.
He’s just nice😩I wanna meet him☹️and just hug him🥺
Amazing experience for our kids.
do a 360 back flip while playing a guitar in space, would be brilliant
Wow, that was amazing. We watched the ISS go over our skies a couple times earlier this month. Miss 3 was very impressed.
The world needs more Chris Hadfields

creo que es uno de los mas simpático ojala que vuelva pronto al espacio y alegre esa misión.!!!!
lol that second girls question was great, basically a boss asking you to JUSTIFY YOUR COST TO COMPANY! To which he had a solid answer.
I am so proud to be a human being right now!!!
This man is awesome! I love all of the images he tweets from the ISS.
What a great inspiration to those kids! Well done "Major Tom".....Ü
Guitars have long fly in space. The first cosmonaut who took the guitar on the space station 'Salyut' was Alexander Ivanchenkov in 1978.
These kids had a lot of GOOD questions!
Awesome he got a school named after him!
Thank you Chris for being such an inspiration to young people! What a great video!!
In what way was he inspirational ?

Oh my gosh the was so awesome!!! I wish I went to that school!!
Awesome because this school is close to my house
GoalieGames just because of that?
GoalieGames That's not really awesome.
I cant stop watching his watch
That was nice to watch. I wonder if he has a youtube channel now that he is back among us and no longer a "spaceling?"
He does. Look up his AMAZING space oddity parody song from the iss, thats on his channel
i love the bit where his guitar pick floats off and he catches it.... :)
magnet collecting dark matter ...what????
This is so precious. Love the questions and answers ;o)
He even plays the guitar..
i live in the town here grow up in and i go to the high school he went to!

the way he grabbed that guitar that had no weight amazed me.
these questions was amazing, very good :D

what is temperature inside the space station ?
They keep it somewhere between 22 and 27 degrees, varies according to where you are on the ISS
70 F
-666°. But since gravity isn’t there it just feels like 72°
