    Isn't anyone going to comment on "dancing on the pole" at 9:00? That is one of the many reasone I love Madison and Erica's commentary. These two should be the commentators for all FPO events. They are smart, supremely funny, and really good at DG. Would either marry a rec player? (just kidding)...not really. Definitely my favorite team. GK Pro, give them a huge raise.

      Followed the rules on that which is a good example. Marked the lie under the basket, released the disc in the basket ( you can't just tap the chains ), to hole out. Knows the camera is on her, and that these tournaments can come down to a single stroke. Multiple corners that you can easily cut on that, but played it by the rules.

    I find it weird how if it sticks in the side of the basket its in now but if it lands in the top its still no good. I personally think neither should counts but putting it into the side of the basket is no different than being on top.

    • @Solontire
      @Solontire 2 роки тому

      When my group and I play casually we count the disc as going in if it lands on top. It obviously shouldn’t count in professional play but it’s pretty rare when it happens and we all find it funny and give it to the thrower.

    • @angieb8941
      @angieb8941 2 роки тому

      They changed the rule to count it when wedged in the cage because unless you saw what happened there is no way to know if it was inside the basket and tried to escape through the cage. I had a wedge ace on Aug 1. I saw what happened but I will never tell.

    • @Edmo
      @Edmo 2 роки тому

      If I understand it correctly the disc has to at first "enter" the basket at the chain height and if it bounce back and stay hanging on the basket outside then it is counted. I could not see a dist go from the chains bounce to the top of the basket...

    Can someone explain to me why FPO scores are usually a lot worse than MPO? when they play different courses

    • @andrewthompson5012
      @andrewthompson5012 2 роки тому

      -12 is leading FPO, -13 leading MPO after 2 days. 45% of FPO is under par at this point while 33% of MPO is under par. Both fields have one round at Northwood and one round at a different course.
      *EDIT: I am not agreeing FPO scores are A LOT worse than MPO, Im trying to show that a score relation to each field should not matter or be compared in any way.

    • @angieb8941
      @angieb8941 2 роки тому +2

      In my opinion, there are many reasons for this. Often the courses are not well designed for the capabilities of FPO. Biological females have a different body structure and cannot throw as far as biological men. It affects more than distance too. Men have bigger hands which also helps with putting. Men can throw slower discs which have more accuracy and get the distance needed. Women have to throw faster discs for that same distance and that can result in tree hits. Another factor is that young women don’t even know about disc golf. It isn’t like basketball, softball, volleyball, or soccer which are often part of school. We are fortunate that Valerie and Alexis were introduced to disc golf at a young age and they both have a desire to be great at it. They have spent nine years learning proper throwing technique and spent who knows how many hours practicing their putts. The only thing keeping them from dominating this year is that they just need more experience touring. It is barely their second year touring full time. It isn’t going to be easy to defeat Kristin. It is going to require Valerie being mentally focused like she was for Portland.

    • @southtoe3607
      @southtoe3607 2 роки тому +2

      @@angieb8941 good point about the needing to throw faster discs, thus more tree hits. Never considered that. However, I doubt hand size has much to do with putting. I think the FPO as a whole just needs to practice putting more. If there were a putting competition throughout the FPO field, Ohn and Missy would wipe the floor with literally everyone else.

    • @angieb8941
      @angieb8941 2 роки тому

      @@southtoe3607 I agree about putting practice. I think hand size just allows more pop with control. I should have said it helps putting range. Ohn is amazing. I think she putts with a power grip. I thought of another reason MPO is better. I would guess some of the ladies haven’t even played other sports. They haven’t had any coaching. I would guess a lot of the men played other sports and were more exposed to coaching and I would think coaches would teach discipline….practice discipline as well as mental discipline.
