This was such a difficult ground to visit - almost claustrophobic. Southampton always had a decent team and the tightness of this stadium was like their twelfth man. In some ways, it reminds me of Upton Park and Craven Cottage. You had a proper battle on your hands when you had to travel to the south coast.
I seen Phil Neal miss 2 pens in 1 game, it was retaken v Villa in Paisleys last game in charge at Anfield also earlier in the season v Brighton in paisleys last fa cup game in charge and also keep seeing him miss on youtube!

I don't think replicas of this kit were ever available for retail sale, but versions of the home and away kit certainly were (I had the white away shirt, for instance).
@@MrJonno85 Jon, I googled it a week ago and you are correct, replicas of this particular canary (?)yellow kit were never made available to the public. Apparently, it's a collectors item. There are very few in circulation. A distinctive and quite beautiful strip in my opinion, despite it being one colour. I have a very soft spot for 1970s/early 80s football/rugby kits. The French home/away jersey from that era was quite distinctive too, as was the Dutch strip from 1981 (Orange with black pin stripes).
@@johnbuggy9121 Yes I like kits from this era, especially Continental kits - St. Etienne's home shirt from the early 80s springs to mind (green with horizontal pinstripes). This first version of an all-yellow Liverpool kit was better than the subsequent versions I think, because of its minimalism. Yellow and Red together can otherwise be garish, e.g. some of Watford's kits over the years!

Their third colours. I thought that they only wore them once, in the '79 FA cup semi final. Replicas were never sold to the public afaik.
