Amazing that that 1st cenote was just opened to tourists 3 days prior! Must have been scary being left in the cave for so long. Glad he came back for you eventually!
That first cenote was scary to watch, I'd have been so fearful of not making it through. As for the family meal at the end - that was amazing. It's the experiences that money can't buy in travel, but when the opportunities arise, they should be grabbed with both hands.
That first Cenote will be one I will remember for the rest of my life. Also; you should of added the part where the guide was like “we’re only gonna turn off the light for 10seconds” and it turned out to be 10minutes with the lights off in a cave 🤣
More videos like this, please! Mayan culture and rituals are amazing. There is a Mayan family that performs traditional dance, rituals etc in Akumal. Enjoy your day! xx
This was riveting. You had me on the edge of my seat! lol Im moving to Merida in 5 weeks so Im very excited to check out some of the things you mentioned about the city and area.
This video reminded me so much of my trip to Belize, so many amazing caves to explore there! I can't wait to get back to traveling, Mexico is for sure on my list of future destinations. Keep the great videos coming!
That second cenote was absolutely breathtaking!! The first one was just a little too adventurous for me. Lol I’m claustrophobic and almost had a panic attack in a cenote with really low ceilings before. It was really cool nonetheless!
You should definitely go to Chichén Itzá and when you do visit the Ik Kil Cenote. It’s a bit more crowded because it’s such a turistic place but just google images and you’ll fall in love!
Loving this road trip! Glad to see the traditional back flip in the cenote. I was disappointed at first, but you came through! That food looked awesome! More please...
Wow!😮 That was Awesome! Thank you so much for sharing all these adventures and allowing me to see things and places I would have never known of otherwise. Can't wait for the next video..well done!👏👏
Beautiful video lovely Christie!!! ❤ The first Cenote where you ducked under the rock I don't think i could have done as i'm claustrophobic! Looking forward to seeing more Mexico vlogs beautiful Christie!!! ❤
You are so brave. Being left to wait for your friends in that cave for 10mins would freak me out. Crazy how you got a guided tour of a private cenote for like £2
side and side had me cracking up! until your last video, I always had the assumption that cenotes were hammocks and I don't know why?!! 😂 love keeping up with your adventure, gives me a break from real life xx
@@BackpackingBananas If you want to, you can just go to Guatemala, Belize or the US border and just turn around, you will get another six months Visa. Saludos ✌️

Really nice video! Cenotes would not be for me as I don't like closed spaces(devoloped the fear in london tube :D ) but it looks really beautiful and must of been a great experience. Celebrating Dia de los muertos with the native people is a dream! Can't wait for more videos to come X
Very good vlog..!! Me hizo recordar tu vlog en Jardin..in Colombia..when you went the extra mile ..y fuiste recompensada( rewarded) con esas " amazing " cascadas. El primer Cenote no recomendado para claustrofóbicos..el segundo super ^Chido^..de madre..como dicen los mexicanos.
If you get the chance you should check out the pacific side! Puerto Vallarta and Sayulita are amazing. Beautiful jungle mountains that tumble down into the pacific in Vallarta and surfer vibes in sayulita. 🌴🤙🏄🏽
I wish u were an actress, u r a far better wonder than Minnie driver. If I was Clint, u would b my Sandra Locke. Love u, enjoy those dimples. A friend in New York. U could absolutely do any Jodie foster movie justice, but Jodie is my jam. Bless u both and your friends and fam
You just have a fantastic way of bringing your audience on the adventure with you 🥰 although I think I would have been a bit scared being underground in the dark alone! You are a fearless one 💪😉
Dear friend. the day of the dead in mexico. It is not related to Halloween. It is just the opposite. the day of the dead is the celebration for the dead loved ones who have transcended beyond. To the Mayan or Aztec heaven or underworld. as it is mixed with the Christian religion. we would say heaven. But it has nothing to do with the commercialist and materialistic Halloween horror costumes. The skulls or skeletons in Mexico. Those represent the angel of death of God. It is an honor to be with her and not be afraid of her. she lives under our skin, in the form of a skeleton. We sleep with her!
Luckily they didn't listen to you, but never tell a Mexican that the Día de los muertos is related to Halloween😱, coincide on the day but not on the meaning. Almost every element in this festival has a deep meaning, from the decoration, the colors and even the food, and the purpose of this festival is to pay homage to the ancestors, so when people associate día de muertos with Halloween, usually to local people don't like it😅 in the place where you are living the dia de muertos is called "hanal pixán", eating that great tamale called pib, is only done in that region, in the rest of the country the day of the dead is celebrated but with other traditions... that are usually the most popular (those that appear in the movie coco)
Oh my gosh y’all are crazy!!! 😂 no for real though that place is really cool. Do you know that that city you’re in is the second safest city in the world. You wanna know why they say it is? Because all of the cartel keep their families in that city. They’ve decided of a safe place for all of their family members to be and that’s where they’re at. Also other people don’t cause problems because what if you got into a problem with cartel family member?? so everyone in that city is on their best behavior.
It isnt called Dia de los Muertos , its called Dia de Muertos. Its also disrespectful to say it has to do with Halloween, it does not. If you are visiting a country it would be smart to research at least a bit of their culture.
At best: Awesome and unforgettable once in a lifetime experience. At worst: Horror movie, where they end up on a metal table while their organs are being taken out. Be careful, ladies.
She is trying her best and still learning ... it is not disrespectful as she didn't realise! instead of being negative why not just tell her how to pronounce it ....
I’d love to go there omg, the tour guide seemed so so excited to show you three around I’m so glad you found this place ! So fun to watch
Amazing that that 1st cenote was just opened to tourists 3 days prior! Must have been scary being left in the cave for so long. Glad he came back for you eventually!
I know right?! I don't think I've ever been to any attraction that early in its opening!
That first cenote was scary to watch, I'd have been so fearful of not making it through. As for the family meal at the end - that was amazing. It's the experiences that money can't buy in travel, but when the opportunities arise, they should be grabbed with both hands.
Totally agree! Gotta take these opportunities when they come!
That first Cenote will be one I will remember for the rest of my life. Also; you should of added the part where the guide was like “we’re only gonna turn off the light for 10seconds” and it turned out to be 10minutes with the lights off in a cave 🤣
the best thing about your videos is that it's so realistic and transparent. there are just very few raw travel UA-camrs. yours are so refreshing!
