Now that QB officially forces the new invoice layout I've switched to it, but they took out functionality. You can no longer toggle the print later/send later within the invoice. I called QB yesterday and they said you can't. So the only way to remove a Send Later status is to actually send the email to the client. Also you cannot hide the Products/Services from the invoices. The toggle switch that is previously set doesn't seem to apply to the new invoice look. Now we have to clutter the invoices with unnecessary (for our clients) internal book-keeping info.

@@quickbooks The issue is about batching time entries/transactions on the invoice so that they appear as a single line as opposed to be individual lines for each time entry. This is still missing from the new and improved layout.
If you go into the Content area of the Layout of the Invoice (What the Customer Sees) there is an Option in "Show Activity Options" to Group by a Service. I have tested it (not used it yet) and it appears to group all time entries for the same Service as 1 line. Since I have a service item for each Customer, I just group by that service and it appears to work.

It's hard to hear you've had trouble with the new invoice experience. I want to lend a helping hand. If you're using the Modern Template, you can update the info for the footer either by entering it on an invoice or by going to Custom Form Styles under the Gear Icon in your company and editing the default template or any other template you're using. If you're doing it from there, you'll want to click Edit across from the template name, then click the Content Tab at the top and highlight the Footer section. I'm owed a ton of money, and my customers can't even see my invoices. This is absolutely killing me!
When I press the new button. It is blank. There is nothing there. So far, I'm not impressed with your product
It's troubling to hear that you're unable to create a new invoice template. Please try using an incognito window or a different browser to see if this resolves the issue. All the best. -Kristina
This invoice update is awful and this video is OK for beginners but does not tell how to customize the client's info at the bottom and how to update the default. This video was a total waste of my time.
There goal is to have customers pay online so they can take a cut of your hard-earned money. This has nothing to do with helping quickbook users have more control or customization.

Someone recommended this to me but I think I’ll just stick with excel
QBO is the worst. QBD was FABULOUS! I have spent countless hours trying to get an invoice template to look like a professional invoice. Not going to happen.
