- Two Delta planes collided with each other near the runway of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport, causing loud bangs to be heard by those on board, including a WPTV News crew.
No, they didn't collide "on the runway". It's a taxiway. Very different but reporters are ignorant
Came here to comment the same thing! It makes me angry listening to them talking in a dramatic uninformed fashion. Oh well...
You were taxiing to the runway on a taxiway, not taxiing down the runway. I know you're not pilots, but I figured I'd help you out with this part.
News reporter doesn't know the difference between taxiing to a runway and taxiing on a runway.
I can’t wait to hear the ground control audio on this one
"Not fun when you get hit from behind."
More enjoyable to give than receive (or so I assume). 😆
Kate did a fantastic job with the standup from the bus. I spent 41 years in radio news, many at the network level, and was impressed by her reporting and by the fact that to the best of my knowledge hers was the first report of its kind from the scene. The first to show the damage from ground level, the first and only report I've seen from the bus filled with evacuated passengers. Kate deserves a hearty "well Done!" from her station and from journalists everywhere. She gives me renewed hope for the future of electronic journalism!
Kate needs to stop imitating a bobblehead while reporting
The thing that is most fascinating to me is that almost nobody is showing images of the 350 that hit the CRJ!
Fact…No Runway was involved
Collided on a taxiway. Great false reporting
Not taxing on the runway. It is called a taxiway. If you are going to report an issue report it correctly.
3:13 They were not on the runway. They were on the taxiway.
So glad that everyone is safe and uninjured.
@1:40 IT's not fun when you get it from behind ! 🤣🤣 Someone's Going Viral ! 🤣🤣🤣🤣
I was looking for this comment 😂
😂😂
No you were not taxiing on the runway.
Why can’t media use correct terminology. It wasn’t on the runway, and there is NO SUCH THING as a TARMAC
Delta museum just got a new exhibit soon! 😅
This will be used as an excuse to raise rates on airplane insurance.
"...It's not fun when you get it from behind......" Wellllll.......itsa matter of opinion.
She's going Viral for that one. 🤣🤣
Mayor Pot Hole Pete will investigate that Scenario.
like a brup, brup brup..yeah
Amtrak runs from Atlanta to New Orleans but it won’t be departing again until tomorrow morning
it is going to take forever tho. 14 hours I am guessing?
@@thevinceberry I’m not certain, I’ve only gone East out of Atlanta. They’ll have people watching the weather reports and they may not go the whole way there either. Every mode of transportation in that area will be sporadic for the next few days
@@mikeingeorgia1 I just look, it is 13 hours. Jesus. and it is too late, train is cancel.
Looks like CRJ was 50 ft short of the hold short line. Pilot error on CRJ. Airbus looked like it was straight down the middle of the taxiway. Hard for 1st officer on that flight to look at wingtip.
@@kenherrera2819I don't know where you heard that, but I saw a report with the actual ATC recording, and the pilot of the larger plane said, "we were center line". If the smaller plane had been right up to the hold line, the larger plane does not hit it.
It was the responsibility of the A350 crew to ensure that they had enough clearance to continue taxi. If it was questionable then they should have stopped until they knew it was safe to proceed. Also the A350 crew did ask ground control "what did we hit?" So it is possible they were heads down instead of looking outside.
@@brianmcdonald6519 You are correct. I thought I deleted that comment which came from one of the early reports on the incident. The pilot did say he was on the center line. I apologize for relaying false information and thought I had deleted the remark and posted the correct information.
@@kenherrera2819 No worries! These things happen!!
“ It’s not fun when you get it from behind “ Bwahahaha speaker for yourself
WPTV News Crew: "We didn't sign up for this!!!"
Poor CRJ. I hope they can fix it.
Chaos and confusion and drama
We have become weak
The news reporter is clearly suffering confusion.
lol slammed into the plane at a whopping 10 mph. What went wrong is the pilot didn’t pull all the way up to the hold short line. He shouldn’t have been stopped that far back.
How hard making correct news reports can be? That's easy, so why can't you do it?
Runway ❌ Taxiway ✅✅✅
They act as if it’s a catastrophe ‼️ Bizarre accident and thankfully that no one was hurt . That is what I would be concerned about .
Scary
"It's not fun when you get hit from behind", said no gay man ever. I wonder if Kate has ever been jolted from behind before?
Free extra peanuts & beverages on next flight?
Pilot error most likely I doesn’t look like the CRJ pilots pulled up far enough and where still on the taxiway that the A350 was on
Most likely pilot error? What other possibilities are there? Did a bunch of pranksters repaint the taxiway markings 50 feet from where they belong? Did an alien mother ship hover over the Airbus and force it into the Embraer?
Is it just me or is everyone being a trifle dramatic? When I say my prayers tonight I will thank God that there was a news crew on board to bring us the harrowing details of the chaos and confusion as they unfolded. Jeez.
This is definitely pilot error
Both of them.
I am an aircaft engeneer "I can fix that"
Work on your spelling of "Engineer" before you touch a single tool, please.
@@blackhouse4421 😂😂
Overworked and underpaid??? Really? Maybe overworked but I know a pilot who works for Delta and he makes over$500,000 a year. Well, I guess that could be underpaid 🤔
TALKING ABOUT AIR TRAFFIC CONTROLLERS THE VAST MAJORITY OF PILOTS DONT EVEN MAKE $100k YOU ARE TALKING ABOUT SENIOR PILOTS
Folks. Don't text and fly.
That's definitely NOT a case of DEI... I assume... 😛
Quit bobbing your head so much omg
que bueno que fue en Atlanta, aquí ya se estarían comiendo a AMLO
DEI?
I think a couple of pilots are joining the UNEMPLOYMENT LINE
Nope. Even assuming each member of the two flight crews contributed to the event, none of their actions would be reason to discipline.
