      As much as I wanted to be a cheerleader for DangerFox, and hope for their success…..sadly no. I’ve thrown nearly $5k into the unknown, with the hope that maybe(?) I’ll see the the desk and xylo I paid for. DangerFox, please refund me. My order #’s are 1520 and 1524. I’ve got a lot of good equipment that needs proper housing. DangerFox, do the right, respectable, and honorable thing. Thank You

    Great Job! One thought, I got the argosy 360XI stands for my ATC45s. I had to add 4x4s (3.5” by 3.5”) under the base of them to bring them to the perfect level for me. The 42” version would have been too tall as I did not want them angled at all. For your Focals, I wonder how the argosy 360I would work, not sure on the height though. I am sure you planned on the weight, just wondering the extra weight of cinder blocks on the 2nd story.
    Thanks for the great videos!

    • @ColtCapperrune

      Luckily wait in my room is not an issue as the construction of the floor is very thick and there’s big beams, and tripled up floor joists in the floor from when we built the house. The cinderblocks will get replaced eventually, it’s just low on the priority list at the moment. Thanks for watching!

    Sweet! Do you have any plans for bass traps*? I know you've got lovely fabric covered 4" walls but I could imagine something like a few of those RPG modex plates would improve the low frequency decay time in there.

    That was a humongous undertaking! I just recently moved a 500 series rack into my console from a side car and I thought that was stressful lol! I have a Manley ref mic as well and I love it! I’m curious if you record vocals right out there in the control room with it or in isolation? I have a reflex ion filter around mine but maybe I’m over thinking it? Hey Colt! First off, love your stuff and thanks for your vulnerability and passion for sharing your journey. Gear question: why did you choose TRS patchbays over TT? I started with TRS and switched to TT after a bit cause it ended up being cheaper cable-wise and space-wise, the latter especially useful for living in NYC. Part of me misses my TRS patchbay and may switch back depending on when I have time to rethink my wiring. Just wanted to get your thoughts on one vs the other. Cheers!

      @@Jake_Sachs what’s normalling? Is it just deciding on an insert sequence?

    • @Jake_Sachs
      @Jake_Sachs 2 роки тому +2

      @@jorykevinberger7047 Normalling is a patch bay thing, used to connect gear to each other with the rear jacks instead of the front ones. So for example you have a multi-output interface like Colt does, and you want Output 1 of your interface to be always connected to the input of a compressor, you can plug the interface’s output into a top rear jack, then the compressor’s input into the rear jack below that. Assuming the patch bay settings are set to “normal” these 2 points, now those things will always be connected to each other without having to use a cable in the front of the patch bay.
      You can also do what’s called “breaking the normal”, which is when you wanna patch a normalled thing (in this example, Output 1 of your interface) into something else. To do this you would use the front of the patch bay to plug Output 1 into another patch point.

      @@ColtCapperrune Oh ok that makes sense, 2 more question, how did you find your listening position and how did you choose the best place to put your speakers? It seems they are very close to your sitting position and not equilateral distance like everyone recommends?

    One simple question and answer. Why do we do this to ourselves, you ask????
    All for sake of knowledge and wisdom, ladies and gentlemen.
    Colt, I personally think that you’ll be writing books one day. You’ll have your own personal shelf in the citadel, teaching future generations how to ward off the white walkers of audio 😜🫶

    love the studio update , btw I use the rechargeable Magic Mouse and it has a battery life of two weeks or more , but if you’re a MacBook user I would rather to get the Magic Trackpad 😃

    You gotta get rid of those HOSA snakes. They do the job on a budget but eventually they just completely fail for literally no reason.

    What kind of patch cables and snakes are you using inside of the Dangerfox?

    That's insane that you were able to do all of this in 24 hours. Every time I get the itch to change the studio around, it's usually an ill-conceived late night lightbulb that pops off in my head, and I spend the next 3-4 days bringing my new studio iteration to life. Props on the high-velocity change-up!
