Being sensitive and an over-thinker sometimes, I simply try to avoid problems first and take time to rationalize and organize my thoughts. I believe that once I am composed, that is just the proper time to deal and solve conflicts if possible. I am susceptible to “fight-flight” mode of adaptation, characterized by primary avoidance then attack.
Personally, it is better to shut up when upset and/or stressed than to dig your own grave by impulsive decisions and emotion-driven speech. Most likely I will be resorting to self-isolation and self-pity at its onset. Usually, it really takes time to put myself together first before reasonably addressing the problems I left behind. Overall, as for me, it is initially the temporary “flight” reaction then the-not-so-aggressive “fight” response.
I think the example of this is the displacement rather than projection according to the defence mechanism. But this very helpful ma'am m thank you so much for this it will help for my Board exam.
If I'm in a painful or stressful situation my mode of adoption for now is "FIGHT" because that is probably I'm more capable to do, I'm actually good at expressing my feelings and thoughts verbally but I wouldn't consider to harm other person. But if I am of legal age I'd probably consider "FLIGHT" to drink alcohol and get wasted overnight than to waste my time arguing with a person that can only lead to me hurting him or her
