Making parallels of events in Denmark and events in the UK is not appropriate. The Danish do not have a coronation, they have a proclamation. The coronation in the UK is a very complicated, ancient ceremony, an actual coronation with a crown and all the attending regalia. In Denmark, the Prime Minister proclaims the new monarch from Christian IX's Palace, the new monarch says a short speech, the new motto is proclaimed, and they go home. Of course, there are some military ceremonies, plus a reception in Parliament, and a church service the following week, but everything is very simplified. BTW, Prince Joachim is nothing like Harry. They are both princes as well as the second son, and that's the end of the comparison. And TBH, what Queen Margrethe did in making Prince Joachim's children counts (the equivalent of Earl in the UK), is not such a bad idea. In such a small country, the government would not be able to provide an appanage for so many princes, especially if there is nothing for them to do. Regarding the "cover-up" of CP Frederik's supposed affair, is it reasonable to think that he would be so careless and callous as to be in plain sight with his alleged lover? I don't think so. When Mary came out to see her family with three of their children ahead of Frederick and Christian, we now can see that heavy discussions must have been going on. When it seems she took longer to replace her grandchildren not in line to the throne with lesser titles, it seems a bit bizarre. The press were kept in the dark and they don’t like that.
