Excellent video thanks so much for sharing! I have this problem once I a blue moon, but not frequent enough to want to take everything apart at the moment. Great to know though for the future when my relay connections inevitably fail!

@@Luke-nj4bj That's how it started with me too, intermittent. Eventually it will stop working completely.

man you saying you got cold air in a front seat that looks like mine has got me motivated to go tear mine out and see what I can see. Solder sucker might be helpful? or can you just use one of those poker rods

@@thesolpurpose3109 Mine still works years later. Solder sucker works well.

Question! 2006 sprinter when you press the heater button on the side of the snowflake a/c button does the blower motor come on. Or does the a/c have to be pushed in also?

If you're talking about the rest heater button under the AC button, yes, it turns the blower on, and you can adjust the speed using dial. You're electric circulation pump must be working, which is a whole other story.

I do have same 2006 but when I turn on ac blows the fuse so I have to turn off engine change the fuse and the van start work if I don’t change the fuse put new one the van don’t start so my question is why ac is blowing fuse ?

    • @engineerable
      @engineerable  3 місяці тому

Which fuse is blowing? There is a short circuit somewhere. Does the blower fan work without the AC? Most likely it is in something like the AC compressor clutch, or in the control module in this video.

Can you just buy the whole ac module ……

It's expensive, and you'll eventually have the same problem. You can buy a rebuilt one where the problem was fixed.

This looks like it could fix my van too without buying an expensive new ac cassette
I brought a Mercedes sprinter Van 2006 model without the front AC fitted
The guy I brought it from had a new compressor, condenser and fans
So I paid my mechanic to install it
Cost me $2500 to fit it. It worked for 3 weeks and stopped. Just the fan works no cold air, plenty of gas in system
I have taken it to 3 places to fix it that has cost me $2500 plus without success
. Including changing the thermostat for no reason as it worked. They get it running for a day then it cuts out a day later
    Can I bypass the thermostat
Can I hard wire the compressor and leave my fan on full speed as it’s very weak anyway and needs to be on full speed
    Is this safe
I’m at my wits end and just need cold air or my wife will kill me for buying a dud AC in a hot Ozzy summer ?
    Please help
    Thx 🙏🏼 Mike

I don't think hardwiring will work, because the AC system probably needs to cycle to prevent freezing over or too high pressures. Check the solder joints as I have shown, because the cracked solder joints result in intermittent working AC
