- Matt reacts to New Hampshire Gov. Chris Sununu's interview with ABC host George Stephanopoulos, and explains why Sununu's stated support for Donald Trump is weak. He also reacts to Clay Travis' tweet suggesting Trump supporters should try to get on the jury pool for Trump's "hush money" trial in New York, and more.
Matt also talks with 4-term US Congressman and an Emmy award winning reporter, Scott Klug. Check out Scott's website, www.lostmiddle.com/

Sununu is a coward, period.
Comma goofball period.
That goes for just about all Republicans and their educated voters.

Chris Sununu cares more about the Republican Party than the United States. That is what George Washington and John Adams warned about when political parties first emerged in our country.
What kills me is these clowns still wave the flag and cross and quote the Constitution as if they are the vanguards of freedom and the United States. It's so clumsily dystopian, like the Running Man written by a crackhead.
I'm so tired of the wimps for Trump. GOP is not coming back from this anytime soon.
Sununu's dad was like that, too. Talks sense for a bit then sticks his rear in your face and farts
Crushing it, Matt. Very sorry for the circumstances, but bless you for your courage and conviction.
I recommend reading the full transcript of the Sununu interview. He comes across as exceptionally simple-minded, uncurious, and tribal. It's revealing of a certain mindset.
I dont understand why the so-called R normies keep championing him. Like, what am I missing?
@@arthurswanson3285 There are virtually no intelligent and decent Republicans at this point, normie or otherwise.
Thank you, great discussion.
Coincidence: Sununu's father, John, was a regular pundit on Crossfire on CNN from 1993 to 98. He's still alive at 84.
Great interview, thanks! Such important points.
Would love, just one time, for someone in the media to ask the follow up, “given what you said before and what you’re saying now, were you lying then or are you lying now? And don’t say you weren’t lying in either case, because that would be disrespectful and disingenuous “.
I also think he's being quite optimistic about the "51%". Anecdotally I've seen that a lot of the people for whom Jan 6th and some of the other stuff isn't a disqualifier actually don't believe those events really happened -- because people they trust have convinced them to disbelieve their eyes. Because of this, a lot of decent people, led astray by their leaders who know better, are approving attacks on our democracy and on our institutions, though they don't really want to do that, and wouldn't.
Great idea about the opinion page!
KEY Bump Gov.of New Hampshire
Where was Chrissie getting that 51% jazz? I don't believe Trump has ever polled above 47%. In fact he's in a tie with Biden now nationally, down about two points. He's unique in being an elected president who has never had majority support of the people.
Good point. He gets maybe 46%.
That's funny about the scout leaders. I was never a scout but I had a good friend that was from a real outdoorsy family and he and his two brothers were. He told me when we were older that the Scout master was always molesting the kids. Good idea from Adam Carolla.
Trump is pro Federal at Gettysburg, but states rights. His riffs are just incoherent.
Waterloo, IA is blessed to have Ron Steele at NBC affiliate KWWL, but he seems likely to retire sooner than later. Our newspaper only comes out twice a week, is owned by a conglomerate, and has huge blank margins and little content. I've seriously considered starting a local news Substack and trying to figure out capital to pay young writers.
That’s a great idea.
"LIVE FREE OR DIE" NEW HAMPSHIRE!?
SOUTHERN AGONY!😊
I just watched a video discussing the scenario described at the end. If a juror is acting in bad faith on a
deliberation 'conviction/or not', they can be removed and replaced by an alternate. If the jury is legitimately hung, it would have to be retried. Trump wouldnt just walk
Will the SC dare to rule on Trump's total immunity before the election, I don't think they have the nerve.

I'm speechless too -- I mean if any political party should be the party of "there is such a thing as right and wrong", I'd think it would be the Republican Party. (I vote mostly Democratic, but as a pretty traditional Christian (in a mainline church for various reasons, one of which is I do accept gay Christians), I also believe there is a right and wrong, and appreciate how Republicans have traditionally upheld this (and many Dems believe it too, of course).
As a moderate Democrat, I use to think Gov. Sununu was on those honorable republicans like Mitt Romney. Now he looks very pathetic, I think that he's pretending to support Trump but still hoping that Trump will lose. Sununu is probably planning to run in 2028 and sucking up to Trump in a cringy way, is how he thinks he can get MAGA support in the future.
We're witnessing the fruits of 25+ years of media siloing and profit chasing at the expense of truth. Since at least the Clinton years, vanguarded by Gingrich and Limbaugh/AM radio, and amplified by fox, anything democrat is by definition demonic. 30 percent of our electorate has had this beaten into their psyches for 30 years. That's why you can reach absurdities like a game show host conman controlling foreign policy after trying to overthrow election results violently 3 years ago. Because democrats are evil.
The OJ jury had ALL 12 jurors vote not guilty within 30 minutes not one rebel cause a hung jury. Matt , I am surprised you even tried to make that equivalency. The jury also had a diverse racial make-up.
He literally always said he would support the eventual nominee this is just basic stuff lollllllll 🤡

It's amusing to hear the constant drumbeat from the righteous press that a "conviction" means everything and all judgement begins and ends with a person;s opinion of the sanctity of said "conviction". Well, there's this too: Do you personally feel like Trump is being singled out and been legally hamstrung by a politically motivated opponent? If so, and i find it very ingenuous for any able-minded person to feel differently, then it is you who are admitting that this is a witchhunt and should be rightfully ashamed to have allowed it . Can you handle that Mr. Lewis?
