I watched Dragnet for many years when I was young. I was always captivated by the voice proclaiming that the crimes were real, but names have been changed to protect the innocent. I really believed in the show! Love it and love it still, easy to watch.
The beatenen up John Maloney character and the Sgt. Tony Chavez in "The Big Boys" episode was played by Harry Bartell. A lot of recycling of the character actors here. Better on the production costs.
There should be an APB for all prints of the original series including the all-color episode The Big Little Jesus, and have them remastered for Blu-Ray.

Bartell was heavily used in Gunsmoke, Johnny Dollar and countless others.
You should check out all twelve seasons of murder she wrote. It’s amazing how many folks get recycled.
