They did not 'give up on their music, fame and fortune'. They have a £1m contract !! And Mutya, Keisha and Siobhan are all famous people. Some people do have principles, and Mutya wanted out when the SB's were turning into plastic barbie dolls, recording stuff like 'Red Dress' etc. Some people do have principles !! That is why they had so much credibility in the early days. It is not 'stupid'. It is to be admired. They are talented enough to be bigger than the SB's anyway.

To be fair, most new bands have to wait almost two years before they have a body of work to actually release. The fact that MKS all had fame (As a group and solo) prior to this, works as a slight disadvantage because they're got to one up their "One Touch", and regain their status as "The cool girls of girl groups". So they really need to deliver.
The hype was in reference to MKS and their reunion and apparent comeback. They've been talking about collaborating with various songwriters for their album which is reportedly going to be released in 2013. They also mentioned that they were going to release a single around this time of the year but so far there has been no releases. And like I mentioned earlier, I would like to see them come on stage and perform some songs from their One Touch era and post-One Touch era.
there was also a lot of talk about keishas solo album not long after she got sacked but nothing came of that either aprt from a few 'leaked' demo tracks on here

They can't use the name because the record company owns it. I don't think they gave up... I agree its exciting and frustrating at the same time. But that is not their fault, they do not dictate when things are released (even The Beatles couldn't decide that - EMI did !). As for success, well that will depend on the quality of the songs, as it always was up to 2005.

mutya and keisha have been developing and working since circa age 14. so keisha is a professional. when amele joined, she missed practices and even appearances with all the drama in her life. she killed the sugababes, but only because heidi (backup at best) didn't have the balls to walk away with keisha. jade has a beautiful voice, but her appearance had to be transformed for the new 'sexed up' sugababes, a try for the american market. hope that the originals have success. peace.

I've been a fan of the girls since they first released Overload and I am curious about how well this new reunion will go and if their voices still blend as well as they did on the One Touch album. Out of the Sugafakes I think only Heidi might fade into obscurity.
Its down to the record company when something is released. Artists dont fix the release dates, Record Companies do !!. Not because they (or Keisha repectively) didn't let her but rather because Mutya basically lost interest at the band. I mean she was only 18 and got a child before, so that's also not very surprising. At that age you often (not always) change your mind very quickly.
If Heidi was the reason for success, strange that the last SB's album was a dismal failure (with Mutya gone and Keisha losing interest), by your logic it should have been a success with Heidi on it ! As for 'angelic balance' you sound like you never saw them live close up. I did many times. Heidi was terrible

They never flopped. The only Sugababes that flopped is 4.0 when Jade joined the band. Their album Sweet 7 was a giant flop.
