That was exactly how I felt about Vinnie’s death. Sure, he was annoying in Max Payne 1 and a lot of us hated his guts, but I was actually starting to like him in Max Payne 2. Such a shame what happened to him.
For a gangster scumbag who was known for beating up call-girls, after that mission where he wears Captain Baseball Bat Boy costume, I kinda felt bad for Vinnie in the end. He lost most of his crew, and could've sold his stuff and get rich and maybe go legit.
Can't imagine he would be much use without his mobsters. In both games he just let his men do the job while he ran away like a chicken. Still, there's a mod for 2 where he survives and he joins the final level to fight against Vlad's men with you and Mona
Anyone else think that Vinnie’s offer to help Max with Vladimir Lem was genuine? Considering the fact that Lem taped bombs to vinnies head and put him in a goofy costume. And how horrible Lem was to him too. Not to mention the fact that Vinnie was terrified of max and that he would most likely not get away with double crossing max.
@@Tengohueva88 Vlad during car ride with Max, a little earlier in the game, said the costume was his "trojan horse". Based on that we can assume that he gave Vinnie the costume as a gift and he wore it not knowing the bomb was hidden in the giant head.
@@Envicted_Edits Probably phonecall from Vlad. If Vlad would have wanted Vinnie dead, he would just sent his killer squad of cleaner to do the job. Vlad wanted Vinnie humiliated. So my guess is, after Vinnie got the costume and put it on, Vlad called him to tell that he holds his life in his hands. Again, those are just my assumptions, but I think it all make sense.
It's hilarious, I'd watch my dad playing this as a 2-3yo kid, and also see glimpses of him watching The Sopranos, so I thought the two were interlinked by the way the mob guys all look in the game 😂
He complains much, but I gotta admit, he's quite a favorite because... 1: He basically ran and survived the first game despite having a very bad gut wound. "It's Fear that Gives Men Wings" indeed, Mr. Payne! 2: His collection of Baseball Bat Boy memorabilia can be quite relatable to a lot of folks in fandoms. Alas, why must destroying said collection be a sort of achievement in the second game? 3: His voice actors, Joe Dallo and Fred Berman, nailed the guy and his cocky and brash personality. 4, and **SPOILERS**: His death near the end of the second game sure is surprisingly tragic and pointless. He was already down on the count, so why the need to put him down so coldly in such an overkill manner?!
Why does Vinnie's voice sounds like Shaggy Rogers from Scooby Doo? Because when I played this since I was a kid, Vinnie Gognitti really sounded like Shaggy from Scooby Doo.
anyone else feel sad at Vinnie's death? he was a pain in the butt and a criminal, but he went out in a dark way.

He was a really fun character.
Couldn't they just cut the costume and slip him out of it
Vinnie abused UNDERAGED prostitutes. I'm just surprised he survived the grenade Max tossed his way in the first game.
Imagine if he survived and became Maxs sidekick.
Lol
dis way, dis way PAYNE!
Thank fuck he didn’t, Passos works much better as Max’s second gun than Gognitti’s whiny ass ever would
That'd be hilarious but epic, I felt like Vinnie got a really rough send off for being so entertaining lol

The voice casting for Vinnie was great. Guy sounded like such a weasel.
Cmah watsta matta wichyew?
Vinnie Gognitti always feel like a Comic Relief villain
So literally all his lines in Max Payne 2
RIP Vinnie😞

i really think it would've been cool if he survived and somehow helped max in the final mission. like have some of his goons help Max/Mona.
I also thought he really wanted to help Max too. I wished Vinnie survived
Seriously that whole scene is very funny. They did an awesome work.
Vinnie is my favorite character in the entire series, maybe even in any video game.
boom...
X2
''Selling his stuff online to become a millionaire'' really aged well except it didn't age well for him. Poor guy.
Lmao
if you destroy his collection he will whine about it
There's a special place in hell for people who destroy his collection

Vinne gognitti a criminal master mind ?!
didn't know Jerma was in the game
vinnie will always be my fav max payne character he is so funny but died so early
I felt so bad for him.😢 he’s just a little guy.
rip vinnie, he will forever be in our hearts
Vinnie is the best character in the Max payne games
To this day I am still wondering how Vlad managed to make Vinnie wear that costume.
me also
to be fair vinnie likes captain baseball bat boy

He sounds a little bit like Joe Pesci
When I first played this I thought Joe Pesci came out of retirement to voice the character lol.
@UncleBenBenniff Just a stereotypical Italian-American mobster impersonation, nothing special about it

Not gonna lie, when I first played MP2 I thought Joe Pesci voiced Vinnie Gognitti lol.
Poor Vincent.

I know right ? I really wished the devs could have done more with Vinnie, seriously imagine if he survives and helps Max against Vlad
If Vinnie corrects the Answer that Vlad questions him, he will survived but too bad he got wronf answer so Vlad detonated him.
Vinnie: I'm a collector
Me: *starts shooting his collections
yo vinnie gogniti still alive
How ?
I don't think so, on Max payne 3 you can find his grave saying how he died
Also he died bcuz of the bomb
@@takeomasaki8519 Can you believe the low luck he has? He barely survived a bomb strapped to him and then died after an explosion.

Shaggy the Mafia

Fred Berman.
He was also in Alan Wake. He did the voice for Alan Wake’s literary agent, Barry Wheeler.
