- Finally getting the new motor assembled and into the forester. As you can see, I had some camera trouble but I got it worked out in the end.

@@DIYEVERYTHING I hear you, two schools of thought… Starting it and pin that thing to the max right away (or) baby it and get to say 1k miles. I’m a mixture of both I guess. Prime everything, start it and make sure no leaks and issues, then drive it say 500-1000 miles with mixed driving and rpm, change oil and filter be done with it.
BTW, I have vast majority of wiring and stuff figured out for our 06 4EAT which you will wanna make sure you got. We should chat about the manual swap a bit, save some time and hassle and you can rep it all to your UA-cam crew. I have 99% of everything setup ready for it… 🤙🏻
Great video @DIY EVERYTHING and thanks for posting. I plan on doing this soon to my 06 OBXT. Did you get the car tuned since adding the larger injectors or drove it on the 1050X turned down? I would like to add the STI fuel lines and larger injectors while I'm there so I don't have to do it later.
As I mentioned in one of the build videos, I contacted my tuner and talked with him about what I had planned and he made a couple suggestions as well. This way, when I had finished the build, he had a break-in tune ready for me and modified as needed.

That's a good question and one I don't have the answer to. I bought it directly from subaru so that's the only way I know exactly what it is but never looked for any specific identifiers.

Is they type ra a straight drop in? Can I use my stock intake manifold,fuel injectors,heads from my stock 05 xt?
Yes, physical dimensions are exactly the same as an ej20, ej25. The only difference from the normal 257 is the metal the pistons are made from. I used all the parts off of my ej255 on this block with some upgrades that were optional.
Man I’ve been researching this exact question for 1 week now. I am so excited to build a 2nd gen FXT. Type RA block seem to be the cheapest, safest way to make 350hp
will you happen to know the part number to your new rear timing cover with bolts - I also have 2006 Xt and will like to do this also
