- It finally happened! Michael's collection of licensed Harry Potter wands has grown to 100! Hooray! Today we share the start of a four part series where Michael shows each wand, plus special stories about how the collection grew as well as wand collecting tips. Be sure to subscribe to see the remaining three parts!
As mentioned in the video, Michael has created a Wand Collection guide that you can use to keep track of and grow your own collection, or just to see what kind of wands have been sold over the years. This is an ever growing and changing document, but feel free to make a copy for your own person use.

The burial of your first wand reminds me of Harry and his sadness of his wand breaking. Must be a Potterhead thing haha.
I think I was experiencing some similar feelings at the time, but now I wish I had kept it and maybe glued a bit of red feather to the broken ends. It could have been my own broken wand from Deathly Hallows!

@@MichaelandHayley I gave my wand a funeral by putting it in a small box my granddad made for me, it’s still bared under the cubby house next to the clothes line.
“I actually *buried* my first wand; like, I had a whole funeral and everything for it.” The post-life of wands always fascinated me, and it always made me sad that they were just buried with the wizards. Since they are, I think it’d be fascinating to consider the ramifications of that: just like when ancient or even just a few hundred year old graves get exhumed for one reason or another (usually modern development, unfortunately), imagine wizard archeologists finding the wands of medieval or Georgian or Renaissance or Victorian wizards buried in the ground. Imagine being able to study ancient wants in that way. Would centuries underground with the crumbling remains of their master have any affects on a wand? 🤔
More than anything, I wish that there were “wand archives,” a place where a wand could go into retirement once its master is dead. A place where a wand could be studied and stored with information about its owner and some of the notable magics the wand helped its master perform. Like Ollivander’s meets a library. Not only would that make the history nerd in me happy, but I’d also love to see that type of space. Not to mention the type of security it must have, as I’m sure Ollivander’s must have, as well. All those wands just sitting there, ready for study but also a sitting duck for thieves.

@@thesparrowmint yes but harry won the wand back from Draco. PS. The wand shoudnt be in the grave with Dumbledore since Snape knew it was dracos and could of had said it was his

Michael, your knowledge of wands is amazing and I loved listening to you talk about the lore! I find this kind of info fascinating! I've always wanted to collect all of the wands, just haven't put the effort to do so~ definitely saving that google doc!

My favorite scene in the whole movie series is when Harry is getting his wand in the first movie. Kind of reminds me of buying shoes before the school year starts.

My favorite of these is Horace Slughorn's for part 2 it is snatcher wand then Bellatrix 1st wand. By the way I saw a Neville being sold on eBay for $300 Once I heard someone say that the slip boxes are Gregorovitch's!!

Hey! I absolutely love this series so much and I am just working through your guys’ podcast which is also phenomenal! I was actually watching Deathly Hallows Part 2 a few days ago and you actually can see Luna holding her new wand! It’s very faint, but it’s the scene when she’s yelling at Harry up the stairs, it last only a few seconds but it is assumably the tulip wand! ☺️

Do you have any idea if they will produce more wands from other characters in the Ollivander box version? I'm really sad there is no wand of Remus Lupin...
As a collectioner how do you feel about non-licensed wands? If someone crafted wands themselves and then were selling them... Is it fine for the Harry Potter fandom? or everyone is concerned about the origin of the wands?

I was wondering, I have Cho Chang's wand in the olivanders box, but can't find them being sold online now? You mentioned you saw one online for $200? Are they rare now?
People so sell them for a lot on eBay because Cho’s is only sold in the slip box now. It’s a rarer collectible, so collector’s are willing to send more :)

I understand how you feel about breaking your first wand, with my first wand that i got from the warner bros studio tour in london when me and my Mom went was really cool and i had it for a while and then my brother dropped into on a tile floor and the bottom part snapped off but it wasn't too bad because the handle was still there and then at some pojnt i lost it somewhere and i can't find it anywhere all i've got left of it is the bottom piece that broke off

I now finally have the money to start collecting. I'm only really interested (now) in the Ollivander box versions and I'm really sad quite a number of them is no longer available... It's very unlikely I'll ever get the collection complete now... (I refuse to pay extreme prices for second hand discontinued items). :(
So I have some of the Noble Collection wands that I bought recently. Like Harry's, Dumbledore's, Hermoine's, and other base characters. But the quality/detail don't seem anything compared to most wands I've seen youtubers show. Does anyone have any idea why? The wands looks very similar but the detail just isn't quite there.

When did you bought your wooden harry potter wand
I don't actually have any licensed wands, but I do a bit of woodworking, and made ones for me and close relatives. Mine is birch driftwood, 9 ⅜ inches, with runes carved into it
where did you buy that wands?
I have a similar story about Harry's wand. So I was just at universal using my Harry's wand when we went on a ride and after we saw the show on Hogworts we left. The next morning I wanted to to see my wand but I couldn't find it. I've checked everywhere. My dad and I concluded it was left at universal. So for like 1 year I was wandless. But I think at 2018 my dad told me I can have another wand IF I ride the harry potter rollercoaster. After the I finally got my replacement wand. I still wonder where my original wand went.

I'm so sad that I missed out on the ones that are not available in Ollivander's box anymore like McGonagall's, Slugorn,'s and Lupin's wands. And they're nowhere to be found anymore. McGonagall's wand was the first ever I bought and I'd love if it would be in an Ollivander box.

Wanna know something awesome? that "marble" pattern on Seamus's wand isn't made up. Check out woods with the "burl" mutation, it honestly can have such a stunning grain.

I kind of need help, I made the test from the wizarding world and they gave me a wand but I don’t know if even exist, I have been looking for it so I can buy it, also I haven’t watched the whole movie so I don’t know the wands can someone help me. (The wand is a: sycamore wood with a Phoenix feather core, 11” and unbending flexibility)

I broke my Harry Potter wand as well! It ended up perfect though when book 7 came out and Harry's was ended up snapped in half anyway
I feel like the more Dark Arts professors/students are a bit more simple, but the Death Eater wands are a bit more complex

I am just a beginner Russian collector of wand's so far there is only Tina Goldstein wand's from Fantastic Beat's I’ll just write here that we translated it as “Fantastic creatures" And yes you have very cool videos

Hi Amanda, the early versions of Voldemort's wand had a wooden shaft, but the handles were still made of resin like the other wands. Today, they are completely resin with a metal rod inside to keep them from bending or breaking. If they are offering a wand that is entirely wood, then it's a fan made wand. If they provide (or you can ask for) a picture showing the trademark stamp, that's another way to tell that it's licensed. All licensed wands have a stamp with the year it was made, like (s04) would have been made in 2004, which were when they sold the Harry and Voldemort wands that had wooden shafts. I think I have a lot of wands (About 30) about 1/4 aren’t Noble or Registered licensing , (there some Things like E-bay and some of thrm are good when you compare to the NB wands and some of thrm Are NOTT ) but I have literally no more room to store any others

My question is where did u get the wands from. Is it from the studios in London or somewhere else? Because I wanted to make my own collection and I can’t afford to spend so much money on them.

I love my wands but there's one that slightly p*sses me off. The "cursed child Harry Potter's wand" just loses paint like crazy. It's the most expensive wand I own and there's almost no paint left on one side literally within2 weeks of owning it. No idea what's going on there, I can just scratch paint off with little to no effort😢
