I have not been able to find a bigger battery that fits yet.
This new Hosim X17 is extremely fun. Quite possibly the most fun I’ve had with an RC instantly out of the box (after charging the battery of course)!
We had a few troubles but we tested it pretty hard over the course of 3 batteries.
We also saved the neighborhood from a horrific beast, even though it’s possible it’s intentions were friendly. - Розваги
Hey Guys, I am the wacky neighbor. Glad you all liking my cameos- Evan, Max, and Sammie are an awesome crew. Thanks Evan from saving all of us from those creatures! We are safer with you around.
Just glad you took the time to warn us before you ran off in a zig zag! 🤣
I thought you were the guy from doresroom tool reviews.
🤣
You are a silly guy! Lol
@gbresaleking 🤣 🤣
Your video are setting the benchmark for fun RC content, especially with kids and staying around the home!
😁It's easily the best RC channel on UA-cam!
I concur
Easily, one of my faves, for sure. I liked the stalker bit, in this one lol.
Thanks, really appreciate that! 😁
Thanks man!! 😃
Hahaha...
Hi there man 🙋🏻♂️ just wanted to say thank you for the laughter and an amazing car and most of all you are a good man and I thank you for that! Blessings to you and your family ✊🏽
Sorry for my language 😄 I'm from the Netherlands and still learning, so 💁🏻♂️
I'm doing pretty well I think, and it is more the spelling what I'm worry about and I delibery don't use the good spelling for Google, for the learning the language
Man you type English better than some people that live here so good job!
Glad you like the videos 😃
Not bad at all!!
Instant classic!!! Maybe your best video ever🤷🏽♂️ and that’s saying something. I stood up out my couch and applauded when you landed on the other rc car. Your boy is a star and what’s cr@zy is he will surpass you. You a family dynasty. Fanboy alert level 5000. Thank you bro. Keep on keeping on.
Haha! It’s #1 in views so far!
Thanks man it was super fun to make and that car was a blast. Seriously always appreciate you watching and commenting!!
I mistakenly bought an X-07 for my wife and not one of these. 🤦🏽
@pk2282000 the x07 is ok, but still a decent truck. Just be a little gentler with the throttle as the differentials are somewhat of a weak spot.
I brought like three rc's based off this man recommendation. He really show you what they can do. Respect. Im ready for a big one now. Great thing that its cheap!!!
Your videos are the best man... informative, entertaining, wholesome... all good energy homie... keep it up!
Thanks dude!
Plenty more coming!
Great video Evan!!! Fast, super stable, tough to boot!!! Cant ask for much more than that!!! 💪
Thanks!! It was a fun one for sure!!
1/8 wow! Makes me think of the Cheetah immediately.
For sure!!
The cheetah is fun but extremely fragile. I’m actually gonna sell mine as a roller lol
Funny enough the OVER exaggerated the size of the cheetah as it a big 1/10. This is not really a 1/8 as we know it to be. Lol
You are very fun to watch!
Thanks man!
Great video as always man. That car took a beaten. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks man! Absolutely!
Awesome videos with you and your boy. This is great to see the younger generation being involved in RC! Also the reviews are great and makes me wanna grab some low cost RC’s which seem to be really tuff and durable. Keep up the awesome content! 👍🏼👍🏼®️©️🔥
Thanks!! Yes I love most of these cheaper cars as they usually have great value!
Dude that 180 tree flip! & you made me put a few videos up. Your channel is VERY inspiring & motivational. Thanks for the videos on the RCs. That 180 flip tho was legit!
Awesome man!! Thanks the flip was sweet!
Wished I had landed that double kickflip and will now have to keep going for it lol
This video is juist the definition of something amazing, love it! keep up the good work!
Thanks!! Really appreciate it!
The tires are dope!!!great vid guys!!!❤️🔥👊
Thanks!!
Love your videos keep it up,and your rc car collection is top notch, keep turning and burning and having fun, never grow up
Great humor. Keep doing what you're doing. Entertaining videos for sure.
Thanks!!
"from the hospital"!!!!!! 😂😂😂
Funny as always!
Keep up mate!
(The "IT" clown was terrifying!!!)
Haha! Thanks!!!
It seems like a really fun truck to drive. Like you said it's really hard to get it to roll. And that's a big plus in my eyes.😊
You tripped in the garage and the first add was about having a broken arm I almost pissed myself 😂😂😂😂😂
Haha! That’s hilarious!
I sure got Lucky! Lol
Better and better every time 🔥
Thanks!! 😃
Awesome looking rc from Hosim!
It is!
Entertaining Informative and funny..........Love it. Much love from the UK
Thanks man!! Much love right back!
You're videos are awesome sir. I've had tons of name brand r/c's of all sizes and I just got my boys an HBX 903 and I've gotta say I'm super impressed. Aside from how hot the 390 brushed motor gets.
Thanks man! Ya the brushed ones tend to have heat issues more than brushless but they’re still great for the money!
It's an awesome 1/8'th scale rc buggy.
I want one, but it's lack of budget.
I'll have to get my pennies saved up!
Massive 👍's up!
Keep up the good work fella. 😎
Awesome seeing a balls to the wall test. A lot of creators on here try their damnest to avoid even scratching a body or soiling the chassis
The only TRUE reviewer other than Kevin Talbot........🏀⚽⚾🏈🏐🥎🎱TO THE WALL.
NEVER HOLD BACK because their passion is in every vid, educational, entertainment and bashed to the max
Thanks man!! Same type of reviews I prefer to watch 👍👍 Gotta know what it can handle!
I know man! Glad you appreciate it! 😃👍👍
Hooo wwweeee! That is a tough car! I love your openers Guys. When the little guy gets a bit bigger he’ll be getting in on the action too! Always great to have a family friendly and wacky neighbor like that. Your new neighborhood look awesome! Especially with one less wack job toscare the neighborhood! 😂 👍🏻✌️🍻
Thanks Robby!!
Yes we love the new place and happy to help rid it if a wacko! 🤣🤣😃😃👍
Great video!
Thanks!
awesome vid my friend as always
Thanks man!!
Nice and fun, seems like a good rc
Thanks, it is!
Grandkids love your vids as much as I do..💯✅️ Appreciate your hard work and keep them vids fun...👀👍🏼🤩🚀
That’s great!! Super happy you guys like the vids! No plans on slowing down 😃
I really like this channel. You are such a great team! Greetings from the netherlands.
Thanks man!! Super glad to have you watching!!
Absolute banger!
Just like your tools!! 👍👍💪💪 😃
Mine should be here Tuesday....
Awesome! Hope you like it, I sure do!
It's got a center diff. .blah blah says The Mad One 🤣 that joker looks like it handles like the arrma big rock! If you like the Granite, the big rock handles like a dream! - hard to get it to roll! Great bash and review as always👍👍🦾🦾
Haha! The Mad One can be very impatient!
That’s good to know about the BR.
Thanks for the awesome comment as always!
I love your videos… they are great. Keep it up.
Thanks!!
Always great👍
Thanks! 😃
Keep rocking the OG Chinese ish playa. I LOVE HBX. Thank you.
Once again a good video, I had a good laugh, keep it up, I like your style. 😎👍
Thanks a ton!!
Finally pulled the trigger on the X17.. Your video definitely made it an easy decision Evan! 😊👍
Awesome man! I hope you like it! 👍👍 Shim those diffs!
Any link to the shims used?? I just bought this truck after watching your video!@DerbyCityRC
I think it was these, cuz it’s the only set of shims I have lol
amzn.to/3JGj82b
Hope you like the truck!!
@@DerbyCityRC thank you!
@ronfisher2016 you bet!!
Thanks a lot. looking forward for mine sweet, love vedio breakdown lol funny as well .godbless
Thanks!!
Ridiculous.
Keep it up👍🏼😂😂😂
🤣 oh I have, and I will lol.
Thanks!
Bro your awesome! That car is too! Seems like it has alot of torque and is very sturdy and doesn't seem to be cheap..
And you totally planned to match your shirt to the car! 😎😉
Haha, thanks!
Actually the shirt was not planned, but it works! lol 🤣
@@DerbyCityRC awesome
Hey, I want to thank you for doing this review. I wasn't very impressed with this car when I saw other channels' reviews, but seeing your reactions and lengthy testing/play,
I think I've realised that 40 MPH is probably decent for a 1/10 model. It's just some midsized 1/14, like the JJRC Q130 and Hyper Go 14301 are just exceptional.
I'm keeping my eyes peeled to your channel for more exceptional RCs.
Take care.
Thanks man! I’d still say this one is not the most durable, but parts are cheap, it’s easy to work on, and it still took a beating before things broke. This model is extremely fun to drive!
I saw a quick glimpse that you bought two cars both of which are good choices !!
@@DerbyCityRC Yeah, those are all great points for the Venum, but what I was TRULY impressed with was how you displayed it's steadiness, even at full throttle. The Venum rivaled, well...the Rival that you also reviewed, but I would give it to the Venum.
In your opinion, do you think if the JJRC Q130 was slowed down to the same scale speed as the Venum, that it would have as good of, or better handling than the Venum?
Yes it was very stable. The JJRC is actually pretty stable as is. Well with the new little upgrades I threw on it on that recent video. But yes the slower it is, the more stable it would be. The Venum has a wider stance than the body while the JJRC doesn’t.
I ordered this last week and should get it in 2 more days, so pumped to try this one out.
I know those metal arms can be a weak point with big jumps but most of my big air will be on bouncey thick St. Augustine Grass. I will be doing the drywall tape shoo goo thing to the body interior before it gets a 1st rip, I tried that with my Hypergo H16BM body and it works great!
Thanks for banging these up real good so we know how tough they are (or not).👏
Nice! I also recommend putting shims in the differential to push the ring gear closer to the pinion. That should help keep the dogs lasting longer. If I get around to making an upgrade video on this I’ll show that. Super fun car!!
I got it today and was shocked it only did 32mph measuring with the same GPS you use. No where close to the 50mph they advertise. I even tried a better 50c 3s Lipo. And throttle trim was turned up.
Heck only 1 youtuber even got this up to 41mph as far as I can find. Also the steering is slow, loose, and beyond correction with trim, it doesn't snap back to middle when letting off the wheel but lags to the side you came from then oversteers when you try to correct, which makes lining jumps an elite challenge.
Durable for sure, I only jumped it on grass, took it easy by my standards, nothing higher than 6ft or over 20ft long. And it still looks new out of the box after 3 batteries! 🤩
If it actually did 50mph I'd probably have broken it already haha! 😂
@DPR-GENX ya I remember mine was only 30 something mph too. Lol. Slow for a 3s for sure but it does have torque.
I don’t recall having steering issues or not, but servos are usually one of the worst parts of any RTR lol
Glad you like it for the most part so far!
@@DerbyCityRC Update: I think GPS lag might have been the culprit with lower speed readings because I ran it again today but gave myself a longer runway and got it up to 43mph!!!
Steering is still an issue and requires constant trim adjustment to even hit my ramp.
Longest jump so far measured 42feet accross my lawn and no breakage!
Now I just need to pack some silicone ear plugs into the mid dif to get more power to the rear wheels and maybe get an actual wheelie out of it.😁
@DPR-GENX oh nice!! My latest video definitely shows gps lag so you’re probably right. And you’re right again, now I do remember having to adjust the steering trim constantly!!
I wouldn’t recommend ear plugs on this model. It’s going to take away some of the durability (which again Hosim lacks a bit with their diffs). I’d go with a thick fluid like 1Million weight to get the best of both worlds. Maybe a bit thicker. Thing is I don’t know how well these diffs will hold fluid I don’t recall if there was a gasket when I rebuilt my front one
Another great video dude! Love your channel all I know is on my x07 I’m on my 3rd or 4th front diff , specifically the ring gear same as the breakage on this one you showed never broke a pinion. Idk if it’s the type of metal but it seams that if you land on the nose under power they break. Parts are relatively cheap and the swap is easy.
I was hoping for better out of the diffs especially with it having the center diff, but I was really hard on the drivetrain in this test for sure. Going to see if they can be shimmed which if so, should help.
Are the diffs identical to those of the X-07 / X-08? They definitely look so, but are they the same size?
In the X-07 they are utter crap and break all the time from nothing. I am on my third front diff and don't even do jumping and stuff. Guess in the heavier it will be even worse.
I would really love to love my X-07, but the diffs just kill it.
I’m not sure. I opened up that XLF X03 and they’re not the same. Smaller and look different too. The center diff puts less strain on the diffs too and it still chipped a tooth. They’re smaller than they should be 100%, but it’s was super fun and I was tough on it lol. Hopefully this opens up more budget co’s to make bigger cars!
$199.99 would be a great price point for this, like you said you can get other things for the $299.99, however i would even bit at $229.99, i probably would pull the trigger, great video, pretty soild RC, looks a lot like the JLB Truggy😉💪🏽💯
Dang, yup looks like that $80 coupon already ended! Shucks! I agree $200-230 is decent. Full price is a bit steep. Yes it does look like my old cheetah. A bit smaller though. My cheetah is getting sold soon lol
Dude when I saw that first top speed test towards that ramp I was 99% sure the truck was going through the house window 😆. Luckily the turn at the end .
Haha, ya I’ve gotten close lol
Lol hope the cars ok love that kid 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol! He’s a savage!
You are teaching him well great Dad in my book bro 😎. I see his big grin and it reminds me of when my kids were little.🤓
Thanks 😊
Hoping he stays with it and all the others join!
Had a mishap with my x17. Heading for a jump from a hill. Literally 60 feet wide. Come to find out there was a 10 inch pipe in the middle disguised as a clump of grass. Needless to say the body blew apart like it was rigged with explosives. My first thought was i bet derby city rc would've been envious of that impact. I need to start getting this stuff on video.😂😅😢😅😂 cue i cant drive 55 by Sammy Hagar!!! Lmbo
Ouch!! Haha! That massive front bumper probably helped save the car
Wow. I’m impressed. Your really trying to flip that thing and you can’t, even in the grass
I was impressed too!
Mind blowing to say the least lol
@@DerbyCityRC replacement parts might suck tho, I finally just got a truck for my son but I thought it was a 4x4 granite used, didn’t notice it had brushless system upgrade, thing is stupid fast :( only paid 170 though
Nice!!!
I like the video before I watch it because I know it’s going to be good butterfingers
Thanks! 😀
I also like butterfingers!
I was about a month too late of seeing this RC! Ugh! Im so upset at myself. I started a YT channel with RCs, just need better camera equipment. My first video is terrible. Thanks Derby City! I watch all your videos that I do come across. Thanks for the awesome content!
Dang! Hey I recorded with my phone for almost 2-1/2 years before I got an ok camera. Awesome man thanks!!

Hosim 1:8 Brushless RC Cars High Speed 80+KM/H Remote Control Car X17 11.1V 25C 4WD Drift Off Road RC Monster Trucks
Love my T shirts brother thank you!
Awesome man!! I appreciate the support and glad you love them! 🔥🔥
"Are you talking about Mom?" LMFAO! I didn't expect that.
It's cool it has a center diff. Not cool that it isn't sealed. Hopefully that thicker fluid you put in will help the front diff last a little longer.
Put in some putty, or silicone ear plugs in it........problem solved
@@mankind8088 I've heard of the silicone earplugs thing but never tried it. That locks the diff up?
I just don’t really want the diff locked up that much. I want it free but with a little more resistance.
Lol ya that was funny!
It probably won’t help the front diff, but I will see if I can shim it to get better gear contact.
@@skree_fpv436yep did just fine on my rc.
Can't seem to find this car to buy it looks awesome 😎 I'm in the UK
That stinks!! I have a feeling more brands will come out with this or similar models and have a broader area of availability! 😀
It nice
Suspiciously looks like something from XLF... My blood pressure skyrockets as I recall past experiences with that brand.
Xlf made the x03, which is smaller and built much differently. But still possible I guess. This one seems pretty well built so far. I was extremely hard in the drivetrain lol
Keep it up! keep it up! Just got a 2995 delivered today because I’ve watched so many of your videos! I need a bigger battery if anybody can recommend one for that model. Good luck with the channel!
Awesome man!!
This one fits. amzn.to/3DST29f
Also if you Hvent seen my video on the HBX 2105a, I show a way to hook 2 of the stock 1600 mah hour batteries up at the same time to double the run time.
Thanks man!!
These videos make me feel like I'm out bashing with you. Little man is also a champ at stunts.
I wish these cheaper brands didn't exaggerate on their sizes though. Just call it what it is and let the performance speak for itself. I hope they keep it at the discounted price as well as part support since it's probably in their top 3 cars.
That’s the goal! Realistic fun!
I wish they didn’t exaggerate the sizes either but it really might be that they just have more smaller cars than we do in the US lol.
This was a good one for sure, though it seems durability could maybe be a little better, I definitely have it a run for it’s money! $220 is a good price, I agree $300 is a bit steep.
As soon as you said (that thing backfired) my wife farted haha
Haha! That’s awesome. 🤣
ke pasada!!!! yo kiero one o dos....hehehe
Are you talking about mom! Lmao!
🤣🤣🤣 he’s a savage!
Awesome video! Looks like Hosim hit it out of the park with this one.
Thanks!
They definitely did much better but a few places to improve on for sure!
Hey Evan. Love your vids and I have some of your cool merchandise. Ive been bashing for a little over 4 months now. I'm looking into getting an 8s and wanted your advise on a good basher. I like doing flips and want good handling. I own the Granite 4x4 V3 BLX and the 6s Big Rock. They finally the ESC issue fixed. The Kraton EXB, Outcast EXB, Xmaxx, and XRT are a few I've been looking at. Do you have any experience with these and any others you recommend? Im hoping not to do a lot of upgrading. Your advise would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
Nice but 3bills is a bit of donuts but looks worth getting 😮
The Amazon coupon brings it to $220. I believe that’s a good price
when it starts to clickety, that means it's time for 4S!
You are so right!! 🤣
Looks built more like a 1/10th platform, keeps it light at least
Ya, I go over all that on the second half if the video lol. Just like usual, it’s a size smaller lol
@@DerbyCityRC the scale things a bit blurred these days, but to me a true 1/8th vehicle has 17mm hex fit and a 1/8th size motor
I agree with that as well! Hoping HBX will jump on a true 1/8 scale eventually!
Just got this car for super cheap on Amazon
Nice!!
Great vid. Can you fit bigger wheels and tyres on it? Cheers
Thanks! I feel like there was something making a wheel change difficult. Dont remember why but maybe I’m wrong lol.
Thing is, with the differentials being a weak point, it may not be the best idea 😆
I highly agree on those arms being plastic, instead of metal, unless you're simply going for speed runs.......Anyway, I'm guessing you just had some bad luck on that diff, although, that ring gear does look a bit small, for a truck of that size. I hope it lasts much longer, next outing, as that truck definitely does look like a good time. It....uhhh, it is a bit ugly, though lol, BUT, only on the outside. That brass colored chassis and upper braces, look badass and those blue arms/hubs add a good contrast. The shape of that body shell, is just terrible, IMO.
Awesome video as always and that stalker bit was gold lol.
one of the 2 amazon reviews mentions the diff breaking too so im guessing the diff sucks. to make it worse they said they cant even get parts for it.
Thanks!
I don’t mind the body too much but I do wish they would have added some originality to it lol
Interesting. I was pretty hard on the drivetrain with sudden start/stops at every turn. When I put my new diff in, I’ll see if it can be shimmed.
Apparently the parts are supposed to be added to the Hosim website this week, so we’ll see.
Guess you'd just buy the diff and other spare parts for the X-07 /X-08 series as the parts would mostly be identical
Some of them for sure are
Any links to better battery and tires for this? Great vid!
Not yet! Can’t find a battery yet. Tires I haven’t tested any yet lol
this looks like a beast maybe ill pick this up can it be upgraded?
It definitely is, just like I show, the gears aren’t the strongest. I put it through a lot though. However a diff is like $12 I think it was (double check that). Plus, there was room for shims. Took out a lot of slop in the diff housing when I added shims so that right there may make it much more durable. I’ve ran it once with sims in the new front diff and no issues yet. I don’t think there’s anyone making Hosim upgrades yet, but if so the best place would be AliExpress. Seems sometimes they have odd ball upgrades lol
The motor, esc, and transmitter could of course be upgraded though!
@Derby City RC thank you for your videos. I Just ordered this. Can you suggest a good back up battery for this car? I can’t find a 2600 11.1v @ 25c but found a Hilldow 2600 mah 11.1v @65c and wasn’t sure if the c difference would matter. Thank you
You’re welcome and glad you like them!
The c rating is fine and should give it a little extra “punch” with it being higher. But have you checked measurements? I was having trouble finding one that would fit.
@@DerbyCityRC these are the ones I found. Hilldow 11.1v 65c 2600 mah 3s Product description say s measurements are 105*36*20mm/4.13*1.41*0.79 inch(L*W*H); Approx Weight: 160g/0.35lb. haven’t received the car yet to measure. Should get it he car Sunday, but I’m very new to this. Purchased for my dogs and hoping the metal casing will help it hold up better. 🙃
I purchased one of these last month after watching this video. I came back to see if you mentioned anything about the tire size. I wanting to buy a set of paddle tires but don’t want to make the mistake of buying the wrong size. Are these tires 12mm to the “hub”?
Cool man hope you’re liking it!
Yes this has 12mm hex hubs. I haven’t experimented with tires on it yet.
Hello I was wondering if you could tell me how the x17 has been holding up for you after this video and if you ran into more problems besides the front diff I know this might sound like a silly question but I'm between this and the arrma granite since it's on sale right now I like the looks of the x17 better in my opinion but I'm iffy about a basher with metal arms out of the 2 which would you choose and why since you have both cars. Love your videos BTW keep it up 🙏
Thinking about getting this but I hear getting parts is really hard did you have any problems?
It took time for the parts to get online, but now they’re there on Hoaims website. At lest they were last week. No issue ordering my diff!
Hey, i mentioned to you I got this truck last time and I want to ask of any bigger wheel upgrades I believe you might have mentioned about some Wheels in another video but I don't remember which one and couldn't find it
Interested to see when you get the hbx 903A and what you think of it.
I’ve already reviewed that 😃
Maybe 4-5 videos ago lol. Let me know what you think.
@DerbyCityRC I was talking about the square body and will it run on 3s
Oh. The square black and white body should be the same (with the different body if course). It’s just a different body for Amazon for some reason. That’s not too uncommon. And it’s not rated for 3s unfortunately.
@DerbyCityRC thinking of getting back into the hobby wanted 3s Brushless 4wd good vehicle. Thinking about the new hosim 1:10. I know a couple people said motor gets warm on 3s so I was going to put a fan on the motor
Check out my videos on the HBX 2996a. That’s my favorite. You would need to swap the esc for anything over 2s though. STILL WORTH IT!
How much run time you get with those batteries?
looks more 10th scale to me but at that price point theres some better rigs to be had imo i think some thicker diff fluid would help that out alot
This is all address in the second half of the vid 😀
He installed 3650 motor , what KV? And what teeth pinion and spur gears is it?
I have a question. Is there a hub extension that fits this so I can get my granite tires on it? If so what's the part number. Thanks in advance. Keep up the vids. Yours are the most entertaining out there.
Thanks man. Respond to this reply so I have a reminder later, but I’ll double check that the spacers I use for everything else will fit, but these are it here if you want to go ahead and check them out: amzn.to/47mkDNH
The 15mm are the ones I have so I’ll see how my granite wheels fit 👍
@@DerbyCityRC ok remember to check what fits to get bigger tires;)
Well unfortunately they won’t fit. The Venum’s axles are thicker and so are the wheel pins. The standard wheel extensions won’t work. They probably would with some modifications like drilling out the center hub bore and somehow widening the grove for the wheel pin to sit in.
I cannot figure out what Hosims are, because they have RC's from Xinlehong and MJX under their name? This one for example has a lot of Xinlehong bits.
Then we’re on the same page 🤣
Most of the Chinese brands have other brands that use the same platform and it’s certainly confusing who is actually who sometimes.
I was excited about this one until I saw the price. If I'm going to spend 300 bucks on a 10th scale car, might as well get an associated or Arrma
Ya exactly. However the coupon on Amazon right now makes it $220. I do feel that’s a good price for it.
@@DerbyCityRC oh. I need to check that out. I clicked on your link but the total was just coming up 299 for me
It was an Amazon coupon/promotion where you had to “check” the box for $80 off. I believe it’s over now but I’m sure it will be back!
Good thing Son didn't throw an Xmaxx at you , would of put you in a coma for weeks! Thank god for those light weight Chinese R/C's
This one has the metal parts and isn’t so light 😅
So wat was a better battery for this one? N make a vid with a 4s on it lol i wana c wat happens
I don’t think I found one yet. I may give 4s a go one day 🤣
Does the X17 85A ESC have the same drag brake issue as the 45A ESC in the X07/X08? Wanting to swap a X08 ESC with an X17 ESC to run 3s and eliminate the drag brake issue.
No there was no drag brake on mine. Very fun and controllable.
Awesome thanks for the quick reply! Love all your videos! All your knowledge and experience is helping me make better decisions on next purchases as I get more and more into this hobby!
What kind of diff fluid do you use? Please make a video on diffs and shocks and the fluid. There’s a lot out there but they explain stuff complicated. I just want to know what type of stuff to put in my boys rc and we try to run them the same way you guys do and I trust your advice. Please 🙏
Hey man. What type of car do you have?
Depending on the size of the car, for center diff I like 100k-500k fluid. May go heavier than that on my 6s Kraton.
@@DerbyCityRC Cool thank you! we only have the 1:16 suchiyu 16102 right now. Our first hobby rc…Noobs🤦🏻♂️😁 👍
Would you say this is better than the X07/08? Or not comparable?
I’d say this is better. It’s bigger and faster (though the x07/8 would likely be faster than this if in 3s, but I didn’t have good luck with the x07 on 3s lol). Much better handling too!
i personally think 3s is a sweet spot, just enough speed for casual play, 2s is under powered and 4s is overkill n overpriced
Sounds like I can hear gears grinding in the beginning of your video some of the reviews. I’ve read people are complaining about the gears, grinding, stripping out less than 30 minuteson on average
In the beginning? Ya that may be true for some cars. I torched the gears in this one too, which I shared in the video. That’s hosims biggest weakness. Diff gears are too small and not strong enough. Luckily they’re cheap parts.
@@DerbyCityRC yeah I seen it when you touched it completely. I’m just thinking about getting one Amazon’s got them for sale. I think it had $40 off.
@t.dwhitaker8808 ya that’s not a bad deal. Just wish they’d make better diffs. Here’s a link to a spare one: amzn.to/3WBJZnV
I was pretty rough on mine so who knows, they may last you much longer. I’m rough so we find weak points to share like that, but it’s not necessarily every day driving.
which cost-benefit stroller do you prefer in 2023?
This one seems nice: amzn.to/3OnYWEk
🤣 just kidding, but I have to say I don’t know what you mean by stroller.
Like just a car to stroll around in? Lol
What’s your budget?
The rc car favorite??
For under $200, the HbX 2996a
Have you tried to remove the screws on this car to upgrade motor? My buddy got this car and I am constantly working on it and I believe they have welded these screws on in certain areas so you can't do much to it. Guess it's time for the torch to come out and play!
I haven’t. Only screws I’ve removed were for the front diff housing to shim up the diff. (Recommend). Of course those screws are just in plastic. Supposedly they’re working on a v2 of this car. Hope they made improvements!
@DerbyCityRC ok, I've replaced the front diff on it with ease. I was going to put a spektrum motor and esc in it for him but one screw on casing over motor won't budge and the screws that mount the silver casing to chassis won't budge. A V2!! Def better make improvements. I like my XO8 but I won't dare buy another hosim. Rallarlo all the way!! After buying the Typhon and the Lasernut, I'm hooked to more Arrma and Losi!!! Thanks for the reply and look forward to the video on the new hyper go!
@kylesteele7590 ya I’m not a big Hosim fan at all, but I did really truly enjoy this X17. The X07/8 are good at first but then degrade rather quickly.
@DerbyCityRC I'll have to use the x08 for the 30ft ramp jump at work then while it still is running good.🤣🤣 Can't wait to see how this v2 of venum turns out. Thanks man!! Gonna be getting me some of those decals!! Glad the 🦄 made it!
The biggest issue is the diff gears. If you can try to land while not on power and don’t to too crazy of flips, they may last 😂. Glad you like the magical unicorn 😅🦄
WY j can't open your Amazon links in Germany... I can only see the 1/10 scale hosim
USE A VPN
That stinks. I don’t know much about it but try what @mankind8088 said 👍👍
It’s a new model so it may just take a bit longer to show up.
does this support 4S as it comes out of the box?
It’s not supposed to, but I have not checked if it works or not.
@@DerbyCityRC I saw your video of the 10 best amazon RC you got. Between the HOSIM 1/8 , the DEERC 1:10 and the RIAARIO 1:12, which one is the best with a 3S battery?
Weeeeeeell, I’ve updated that list as a new model came out. If you’re up for watching a video, it’s this one: ua-cam.com/video/9mef2vZL-eY/v-deo.htmlsi=aUmDSK6dqMN5yYB8
Are you mostly on road stuff or off-road? Gonna do any big-ish jumping?
@@DerbyCityRC so HBX is better than the 3 ?
i would prefer more stability, size and speed...thats why i though the HOSIM ..?@@DerbyCityRC
The off brands always lie about scale.
It might just be that they have smaller cars and less big ‘Merican trucks in China, which would make the scale sizes accurate to them. Lol just a thought
hello. quick question. whats the KV on that motor?
Unfortunately I can’t find that information. It’s a 3650, but the kv seems to not be listed and doesn’t say on the motor.
@@DerbyCityRC Okies. What im trying to figure out is the 3650 motors ive used on the Wltoys 124018/19, after spinning out or doing sharp turns where the car comes close to a full stop, it doesn't have enough power to start accelerating like the Hosim can. For eg 4:26
My car could not recover from that. It has to full stop to start accelerating again.
Could it be the KV? ESC? Gearing? Tyres? Or as youve been saying that the center diff helps with power distribution??? I hope you know what im trying to say!
.
I think I know what you mean. Hard to say what the cause is though. Could be a weird programming in the esc or could be the kv rating potentially.
they say on the box 80+ kmph its only going 60 ? hmmm strange
It’s pretty common for these “budget” companies to stretch their speed claim unfortunately. That’s why I do the tests.
