I know there's thousands of these stories so Ill skip the sad details tldr; This got me through one of the heaviest layered shit times in my life. you bet this was on repeat sitting on bathroom floors. cheers as usual bayside for helping being that thing you can play on repeat until you can get back up and have a go. Your music is appreciated and makes a difference. Here's to the other long timers being self aware.
If Bayside is good at one thing it is getting people through the hardest parts of their lives. I was definitely that girl playing their CDs on repeat on the bathroom floor at 17-18, even 21-22. Their music applies so well to all the things we seem to be going through. Best underrated band no ones ever heard of…❤️
We can wait for the perfect moment But I say we're in it And I'll take all the punches I'm thrown If it's what I should do, do, do I want to be good But saying I do doesn't make it true As if repeating my questions And shrugging off suggestions Ever got me far Boys to the back and men to the front of the room And if you think that you've got something missing You probably do I know that acceptance comes first And if I want to change then I've got to work Just cause I say I do, doesn't make it true Courage is an acquired trait So we've got to admit that We appreciate gained strengths But now we're not nice to look at I've always though that I do But saying I do, doesn't make it true As if excusing my actions And well-timed nervous laughing Ever got me far Boys to the back and men to the front of the room And if you think that you've got something missing You probably do I know that acceptance comes first And if I want to change then I've got to work Just cause I say I do, doesn't make it true My problem: sinned enough for a lifetime Take him to the lake it'll drown him Like I never found him So I can't apologize Especially not when I know that it's alright I can trust myself To be playin' em carefully Why do I think I'm always right? As if excusing my actions And well-timed nervous laughing Ever got me far No it never got me far Boys to the back and men to the front of the room And if you think that you've got something missing You probably do I know that acceptance comes first And if I want to change then I've got to work Just cause I say I do, doesn't make it true
He's definitely not the most conventionally talented, but neither is RHCP's Anthony Kiedis. But they both do a really good job matching the tone of the music I think. Makes for some powerful bridges, which has always been a constant in bayside songs
If You're new to Bayside, Welcome. You're just as beautiful and Valid as people who've been here since their Debut

Thank You for sharing your story. I'm so glad Bayside could help. They've helped me through some of my hardest times as well

We can wait for the perfect moment
But I say we're in it
And I'll take all the punches I'm thrown
If it's what I should do, do, do
I want to be good
But saying I do doesn't make it true
As if repeating my questions
And shrugging off suggestions
Ever got me far
Boys to the back and men to the front of the room
And if you think that you've got something missing
You probably do
I know that acceptance comes first
And if I want to change then I've got to work
Just cause I say I do, doesn't make it true
Courage is an acquired trait
So we've got to admit that
We appreciate gained strengths
But now we're not nice to look at
I've always though that I do
But saying I do, doesn't make it true
As if excusing my actions
And well-timed nervous laughing
Ever got me far
Boys to the back and men to the front of the room
And if you think that you've got something missing
You probably do
I know that acceptance comes first
And if I want to change then I've got to work
Just cause I say I do, doesn't make it true
My problem: sinned enough for a lifetime
Take him to the lake it'll drown him
Like I never found him
So I can't apologize
Especially not when I know that it's alright
I can trust myself
To be playin' em carefully
Why do I think I'm always right?
As if excusing my actions
And well-timed nervous laughing
Ever got me far
No it never got me far
Boys to the back and men to the front of the room
And if you think that you've got something missing
You probably do
I know that acceptance comes first
And if I want to change then I've got to work
Just cause I say I do, doesn't make it true

Tom Spencer especially Mary. Great toons, lacking lyrics. Love this band!
That's honestly the alternative niche that I love though. A tad off key intentionally.
