Great advice Tom, and it makes much more sense than 99% of UA-cam videos about hedging. Greatly appreciated. When you buy long puts to hedge, normally what DTE do you target? And how is the delta compared to delta of the short puts you already have in the strangles and 112? Thank you!
60 DTE.
Hedgehog is Stupid.
Thank you Tom. Look forward to another Uncle Tony discussion!
Thanks Tom, I appreciate your advice and perspective. Did really love the discussion you had with Tony previously and glad you are planning another.
Appreciated Tom. Great perspective. Best.
Great perspective Tom. Thanks for sharing.
Great presentation!
Excellent video
Muy buen video, muy educativo y realista.
thanks Tom for this great video. I trade mainly campaign style trading in ES, I will start taking my profits at 75% rather than 95% to get rid of my naked puts
Great insight. Hedges are like rolling... it's al financing by trading something else.... every gimme has a gotcha!
Hi Tom. Why are you doing 111 trades instead of 112 in your IRA? Thanks Tom.
Hi Tom, thank you for the video. Has been following you from Canada. You mentioned BP power use based on account size.. BP number is easily displayed in Tastytrade which is not available in Canada. Most traders use IBKR, any idea what alternative to BP in a margin IBKR . Look forward to your discussion with Tony. Two thumbs up!
how do you 'model' if your hedges will provide the level of protection you're shooting for?
Hey Tom, thanks so much for all your videos! Just to clarify, you were saying that you always have around 16 long Puts on at a time? And that the number of long puts is better than fewer long puts with a higher delta for your situation? I'd love to see a quick video of how you campaign your LT112 hedges. Either way, thank you for all the content!
That is correct yes. More lower longs is better than fewer higher longs.
Like which delta do you choose?
To a member of the discord, would you be able to provide a guide on portion of portfolio to allocate to the campaign trades and discretionary trades?
We would help you build YOUR plan based on your goals, risk tolerance, trading style and account size.
so selling strangles in 4 different products uncorrelated I think I'd be fine and wouldn't have to worry about this kind of thing. Just take the loss an reset.
In the LT112 strategy, the debit spread acts like a built in hedge. Is it not correct?
Yes, but that hedge doesn't "take effect" until a good amount of time passes in the trade. So day 1 of opening the trade, a violent move down will really hurt your trade and your hedge won't help at all.
@@frozenyetimug - Why would the PDS need time to take effect?

hedges very little! Think about it...the 112 has 3 short pts and 1 long put! So it is a negative vega position and a terrible hedge. You will get killed completely if there is a large move in the market.
