  • The mystery of carving chain work.My friend Ralph has been carving love spoons for decades, long before it became as popular as it is today (2018). I filmed this video in 2012. We have both spend many happy hours over the decades at craft shows and in our workshops demonstrating our crafts, even in retirement the tools are still busy! Stuart King

Amazing talent, skill, and artistry. The spoons you crafted for your wife on your 25th Anniversary and your daughter’s wedding are just so incredibly intricate and filled with thoughtful, meaningful, and beautiful details. You’ve created some very precious family heirlooms that I’m sure will be greatly cherished, as they are handed along, through your family’s generations. Thank you for your tutorial and for sharing your masterful artistry with the world, here on UA-cam.

I wasn't sure if I would watch to the end because I was looking for a video to show me how to do a chain with only carving knives. You are a very good teacher.

A fabulous lesson from a wonderful man who my wife and I first met in 1988 and who kindly carved a magnificent spoon for our 25th wedding anniversary in 2008.

Hi there. What an amazing video! I am a Canadian and am about to marry a Welsh girl! The Welsh Love Spoon is a beautiful tradition and I'd love to make one of these for my fiance. I am a beginner and have never carved anything before. I noticed you used a template for the figure of eight. Is there any chance you could post the details on the template measurements? I can't wait to attempt to make my first Spoon!

I was at Borehamwood on his watch, spent day and night following the mad bastard around the station with a broom, what a dude, Mental Hentall.
