Boston College vs. Syracuse: The ninth-seed Eagles defeated the eighth-seed Orange, 1-0, to advance to the quarterfinals. Nicole Giery's RBI single in the fourth inning drove in the only run of the game. Pitcher Abby Dunning pitched a complete game for BC, giving up just two hits and striking out three over seven innings. Syracuse pitchers Lindsey Hendrix and Jessie DiPasquale combined to give up just four hits and one run over seven innings.
