The argument that this is a victimless act because the images are of herself as a child doesn't fly because the audience was duped into getting an image that was clearly not what she was suggesting it was and each of those individuals are the victims. It doesn't matter if it was of herself that doesn't free her up from the fact that she showed images to unknowing participants who had to buy into them thinking they were receiving adult material. I can't imagine the horror I would feel if I thought I was going to be seeing adult content and being in a certain mindset only to see a little girl doing something that yes she's right is innocent. That is an innocent video. It's a child that doesn't understand what they are doing and they're being silly and that is exactly why the context she put it in is so disgusting because it was an innocent video but the audience was not in an innocent mindset they were in a different mindset expecting very different content so there were victims to this and if anyone deals with something like PTSD or had a traumatic events in their childhood where they were abused in some way this situation would be even more upsetting for that individual and could offset a bunch of extremely damaging emotions. The outcomes of this are many and endless and regardless of if her intentions were to be humorous and cute it doesn't rectify the damage that was done or reverse the actions of the damage. No one's going to be able to erase or sponge that image from their mind. Honestly I'm sad for her because I don't think she's an evil person but clearly her boundaries are blurred and she's young and impulsive and is going to have to live with this for the rest of her life and I truly genuinely feel for her and feel for her audience but there were victims here and very real life consequences as a result. It's all around just really a tragic situation and one that was really hard to hear about

I'm also familiar with a situation of someone who was in a dating circumstance long-term and had images of their partner's child not fully clothed on their phone and later they broke up and he wound up getting in some legal trouble and when the images on his phone were discovered it put him under further investigation. He never was charged with a crime after heavy scrutiny and the nature of the images but it tarnished His Image and reputation, cost him his job and for several years his life was completely ruined and on hold while the investigation was conducted. It's not like this type of investigation is taken lightly and occurs overnight. Of course he had other extenuating circumstances regarding other charges but it was years and years many court appearances tons of lawyer fees and buried him in a hole that he has yet to get out of
@Ashley Rouse yeah from my understanding when watching some legal videos where lawyers have broken down this situation it seems that it would be extremely difficult to prosecute her in a court of law since the nature of the video itself was not overtly sexualized or recorded with the intent of sexualization of a child and that apparently (at least here in the United States) is what would be condemning for her. Her commentary about the video doesn't change the context in which the video was recorded therefore it would be extremely difficult to prosecute and convict her of a crime. In a way I am glad that she likely won't walk away with a permanent criminal rap sheet since she is only 21 and I do believe this was a genuine mistake and not a malicious act. That being said I agree with you that I hope she's getting therapy of some kind or has been able to deeply reflect on this situation and understand the gravity of the consequences so that she never does anything like this again. I also hope other content creators who have watched this story are able to learn from it and understand the gravity and impact of what they put out into the world has another individuals and how once it's put out there it's there forever and no amount of deleting or trying to retract comments can undo the damage that gets done.
