Commercial rafting companies take over a quarter million guests down the Ocoee River each season. Serious injuries and deaths are quite rare and statistically insignificant. If you would like to read actual accident reports visit the American Whitewater Accident Database www.americanwhitewater.org/content/Accident/
Did you learn anything watching? These videos were originally intended to help young guides learn from their mistakes. And for the enjoyment of fellow guides and kayakers. Watch my videos shot in the class 5+ Green River Narrows for context. The Ocoee River is easy and forgiving.
@@FastFredRuddock I missed the corrective action or how they should’ve attacked the trouble spot part, I didn’t see anything but laughing and mocking. If that in and of itself is the teaching point, I guess it’s nuanced. I’m not good at nuanced. You do have some good videos showcasing some great talent on your channel.
It isn't all PC. I am a creek boater thus I find class 4 very easy. I am not everyone's cup of tea but I do train future guides. I have a free online Ocoee Guidebook on my website fastfreds.com
@@FastFredRuddock Trust me, I’m no PC nazi. I’m a retired special forces medic who’s been out since 2010 and still doesn’t fit in anywhere. I would’ve been good with the answer “There’s no real point, it’s just fun”. I envy and respect anyone who makes a living working in the beautiful outdoors. I’ve done a lot on and in the water for the military but never white water rafting. Maybe I’ll take a trip, we can meet up and you can try to drown me. Cheers.
Yeah!!!!!! Muchas Gracias Fred!!!!!! Awesome video brother!!!

@@FastFredRuddock You rock man. Thanks so much for your insightful replies
What’s the point of making fun of these people?

You should consider whitewater kayaking on your own rather than rafting. It is much more fun for those that are not meek of heart.
