"Trinity Health Ann Arbor" Hospital, formerly Saint Joseph Mercy Hospital, is completely within Ypsi. The main hospital and all its outbuildings and professional centers have USPS addresses in Ypsi -- but are still listing those buildings as being in Ann Arbor. The hospital should just go ahead and be proud of Ypsi already, not keep saying Ann Arbor.

Some other points about Ypsilanti: - The historic Ypsilanti Water Tower was voted the World's Most Phallic Building by Cabinet Magazine in 2003. - Michigan has the largest per capita cannabis sales among all 50 states. Washtenaw has the most sales among all Michigan counties. Ypsilanti has the most sales among all cities in Washtenaw County.
1964 EMU alumnus. At that time, it was the place to live. Apartments a third of those near U. of M. We were basically surrounded by farmland. Quiet, safe, we never locked our doors or windows when home, and most often forgot when at class. Now, I to be blunt, would not allow my cat to live there. Go one block any direction from campus, and you are probably going to be a crime victim. Even on campus is not safe after dark.
A generation ago Ypsi was a mostly boring suburb of Ann Arbor without a lot going on for themselves. In recently years though a lot of the people who make up the cool cultural elements of Ann Arbor have been priced out of town and are moving to Ypsi. As just one example, see how Pride celebrations in Ypsi have grown while Braun Court in Ann Arbor is about to be torn down and replaced by a developer. Also the Downtown area, which wasn't even mentioned here, is almost as nice as Depot Town.
25+ years in Ypsi, multiple neighborhoods. I feel safe here. Our library is awesome. Pre K to 5th at YCS is very good. We have an IB elementary, middle, and high school that is top ranked.
I lived by Depot town early 2000’s. Beautiful place but full of WEIRDOS 😂 my sister lives on Michigan ave down from the police department, 2 murdered in her parking lot. She only goes to West Willow if absolutely necessary.
We are in the process of moving back to Mi Ypsilanti is not on our radar , but after watching this we may take a look in that area. Does anyone know if Tom Dodd is still the unofficial mayor of Depot Town ??
Read upon some of the crime statistics before you make a decision. Much more affordable than Ann Arbor, but if you want a suburban setting in Washtenaw county there are other choices.

At least it’s not Benton Harbor, but definitely the worst place I’ve ever lived and I’ve lived abroad and in many different U.S. states and cities.
