They do have phones. There's a lot that's good in their lives, but it is not simple. They struggle to find markets for the meat, milk, and wool that they sell. They don't have shoes that are comfortable. The definitely have many problems connected with money: they need to buy the rice, the vegetables, the clothes, the pots and pans.

the cooking style is very similar to village cooking in Uganda. the use of long sticks for cooking to control temperature is interesting.. instead of the barbecue idea of just putting logs on the fire.

Women here do not have the kind of life you see on televion or videos. Women work very hard and are often the only one working and taking care of the kids.

Notice the children don't sleep in a room all alone, away from their parents! Only in the 'first' world countries do we relegate a baby/young child to a room all alone so we don't 'spoil' them.

They do have phones. There's a lot that's good in their lives, but it is not simple. They struggle to find markets for the meat, milk, and wool that they sell. They don't have shoes that are comfortable. The definitely have many problems connected with money: they need to buy the rice, the vegetables, the clothes, the pots and pans.

It always amazes me when someone double or triple my age knows so little about the world outside of their little bubble. You probably donate $10 a month to feed some poor African child and tell all of your bridge group that you are helping end world hunger. These men are tending to their herds from sunrise to sunset walking dozens of miles every day in the mountains to support their family. One of the men has to sleep with the herd every night to protect them from wolves or other predators. And you call them lazy??? You really are a class act. Those lazy men should have built multiple villas for their families for them to live in out in the middle of nowhere with no roads nearby or infrastructure for 100 miles.

They weren't eating the dregs. In fact, the rice at the bottom of the pot is the best part in Iranian cuisine; so they got the tastiest portion with the chicken.

the cooking style is very similar to village cooking in Uganda. the use of long sticks for cooking to control temperature is interesting.. instead of the barbecue idea of just putting logs on the fire.
