I dig the filter you used in this vid. It's subtle, lightly used and not distracting. Looks good! 👍🏼 I have not tried the Osprey. I do have the Konsul tho. I have no trouble loading the blade. Everyone is different tho.
Another great video as per usual and it is very nice to see you back ! Your honesty is very much appreciated. 👍 A while back, I remember one of your videos called "The Italian shave". Which razors would you use, if you decide to make a video called "The American shave" ?
Greg love ya. You aren’t fully in it. Take the time you need. I hope you find what your after. We’ll be here. Btw - for me the Konsul and 6s actually work as everyday or safe default razor. I’ve been using the 6s exclusively and it is the r5 r6 - shaving every other day- thick course beard sensitive skin. Take care bro.
@@GregTardifMiss your full vids but I understand. You had the best for humor, production and some great content inc honest reviews. I started calling it the 6es and calling the posts hot dogs. Great stuff.
The undisputed champion for me is the Rockwell T2, the shave I get with a TREET blade are perfection - I have tried most razors and nothing comes close to the T2 - comfortable and 100% BBS - my question… how does the Osprey compare - like every other Blackland, is it more aggressive? I live Blackland and their dedication to the USA - I just can’t use any of their razors. I use the T2 on level 4.
I see from your tweets that you are feeling better; glad to see that and glad to see you back on UA-cam. Take care of yourself. Also, my pot metal Muhle R89 is far better than any of those fancy 316 steel expensive razors. 😜🤪😝
Our razors are the exact size of the most famous razor ever made, the Gillette fat boy. If it was good enough for men in the fifties and sixties, it's good enough for today 😊 The long handle craze came from cartridge razors, and usually those new to double edge shaving find a long handle comforting, but in the long run it is completely not necessary. Ymmv of course - we offer XL handles that are 3/4" longer. Thx! -matt
@@mattpisarcik5865 I was just picking on your height. For anyone reading the comments, Matt's taller than most of the NBA, and is fine with a standard handle. I prefer vintage length handles, myself. Most of my favorite razors are shorter than the Fat Boy. Anything close to 3" is ideal for me. Longer handles make a razor feel unbalanced and too light in the head.
I have Osprey and had Konsul. Just couldn’t get used to slant and the blade insert and removal was a pain. The Osprey is a gem. The issue is if it is worth 3 times the Yaqi Ultima.
Wonderful vid, perfect length, perfect content and easy to understand conclusion... as always! I'd love to get your thoughts on the Osprey vs. the Rockwell T2... pretty pleeeeeease 🤞
@@GregTardif Rex, Matt. In their launch video they mentioned it being the better route for people with sensitive skin over the ambassador. Don't doubt your experience, just found it interesting. I have a Rex Envoy and was thinking about the Konsul for fun.
Get a straight razor and a strop and a set of Naniwa SUPERSTONES. That’s what I did when I got bored with everything else., that’s a completely new rabbit hole to fall down lol
Shouldn't be just you! By definition, a quality CNC design should have tolerances minimized to the point that blade alignment should be a thing of the past!
Would you recommend the Konsul over the Ambassador? Oh, and the Konsul does have an XL handle that’s longer but it bumps up the cost. It was/is on my Maybe list, but it’s so pricey. I may get the GameChanger and 6S instead and still be out less than the Konsul. What’s on your Black Friday list?
A certain other shaving channel compared a Rex razor to the Osprey and had a lot of complaining (that video should have come with a disclaimer about a conflict of interest IMO). Does the top cap of the Osprey have a lot of drag to it?
Have you tried both? Which do you prefer?
Konsul only, like You a bit too much for Me. Now using the Goodfellas Smile Syntesi, try it !
No. I only have the Konsul. That's the most $ i've ever spent on a razor. I would not mind trying a Osprey tho if someone wanted to loan me one. 👍🏼
Konsul! ... it is the only one I have :)

Good to see your face, Greg. Helpful insights as always. 👍
Nice, buddy! I look forward to trying the Konsul someday... my dream is the I guess first ever slant adjustable Walbusch. Take care!

Thanks! Had a lot of people asking about this so I made a quick video about this

Personally I would go for the Konsul. I only hear great things about it. (Even though I never used a slant, that would make me very curious.)
Isn't it ironic that the Rex has the shorter handle? Matt Pisarcik is like 9 feet tall. You'd figure he'd need a bigger handle.
Maybe he has tiny hands 🤷♂️

@mattpisarcik5865 only reason to have a long handle like that is if you hold it like a hammer 😂
I really hope you get the Karve Overlander Brass, just because I'd like to see a review of it from you.

If you could only have ten razors for the rest of your life which would they be?
There’s a video for that
Have your opinions changed since the latest top 5? How do you feel the Rockwell t2 SS is? Is it in you top 10?
thanks for your supernice review. Always short, tight and to the point, really appreciated. What music is it thatyou use?
very best
'tis the season

Pretty surprised, considering they say the Konsul is supposed to be more mild than the ambassador?
Who is “they”?

I am not buying either, price out of my comfort zone.

I am not buying anything for his Black Friday
Any thoughts on the new Rex Sentry?
Haven’t t tried it
Does Osprey work at all on one?
Probably
The Konsol has service parts the Osprey does not...the Konsol can be taken apart and put back together, the Osprey can not.
@Greg Tardif
You shaved! Who won the beer?
😂 neighbor did

People can always have an opinion even if it seems like a conflict of interest. I think it’s a smooth shaver. I don’t think about “drag”
No mouthful of bush today ?
Not today!
