For those who took my class class ‘intro to Ukulele’ at the library, this lesson relates to these chapters in the index of your course book: *Your Left Hand - Left Hand Warm up
@mikestolz7199 - the thumb will stay behind the 2nd finger or even a little between the 2nd & 3rd. This helps keep the hand from angling or pitching the fingers toward the headstock which again would make them shorter. However the thumb may move down or closer to the floor as the fingers in front of the neck are moving closer to the ceiling (strings 3 & 4). This will help the fingers clear the string beneath the one being played. If this causes the wrist to bend at a sharp angle then pitch the neck upward more at a 45 degree angle to help relieve that bend to maintain good circulation. I hope that helps. 🎶🎶
