    This is so wrong on so many levels.
    1. It's 1943 not 1942.
    2. The "D" means the Denver Mint and that's not what makes the coin special.
    3. What makes the 1943 cent special is they were minted out of steel to save copper for bullets in WWII. Roughly 50 where accidentally made out of copper.
    4. The ones minted in 1943 accidentally made from copper are worth hundreds of thousands not millions.
    Just fact checking at its finest 🤦‍♂️

      Another mistake he said was "the coin was made of bronze instead of copper", it was meant to be steel that year (1943), not copper nor bronze. It should be bronze before and after 1943 but not 1943 except for the coins mistakenly made with the bronze planchettes, in 1943.

    This is so filled with misinformation. The “rare” coins around this time are the copper 1943. And the steel 1944.

The reason why the copper one is rare in 1943 is because they were minted with steel during that time. 1943 pennies are supposed to be made with steel not copper. Hey everyone, it's awesome if you have a coin from that long ago! I just want to clear some things up though.
    First: The year of the coin is 1943 not 1942
    Second: The D under the date isn't what's rare about it. That's just the mint mark showing you where the coin was minted.
    D= Denver
    P or blank= Philadelphia
    S= Sanfranciso
    Third of all: The coin is rare because in 1943 they were supposed to making steel pennies instead of copper. That's because they were needing to save copper for the war.
    I hope this helps you guys 😀

    The one that sold for that much is because in WW2 the US government used steel to make pennies only in 1943 because they needed copper for the war. If you have a penny made of copper from 1943, that is VERY rare. Those coins were made from an accident, so very few exist.
