As far as racism goes, Song of the South could be worse. As a kid, all you can see is a happy black guy. Not that awful. There are worse examples in Bugs Bunny.
To be 100% fair, Song of the South showed the connection between a young white boy and an older black slave that works on his plantation, and that a mind without cynicism can develop a true friendship. The animation was way more racist than the live action parts. BEARS AREN'T THAT STUPID.
