Izzy I loved this video because it brought back so many happy memories of when me and my wife moved into our first tiny home that had a backyard (!).
The terraced house had been renovated inside, but the builders had left all the old bathroom suite and a load of other junk in the backyard.
So we "borrowed" a load of pots, plants, and soil (!) from mum and dad's garden, and also tools, and paints.
We scrubbed the concrete and bricks with just water & washing up liquid.
We then painted the old bath, toilet, and sink, and then we planted the plants in them!!!
We were SO SO proud of our achievement, just like you are!!! 👏👏👏

Fantastic job, for someone that hasn't had much experience in that kind of thing you have a great eye on what works. A mural would look great on that back wall. Excellent job 👍
Love it! We have a similarly tiny concrete back yard in a very inner city area but last year filled it with soil with some flat stones as a walkway and planted loads of wildflowers that did well in the shade. It's really come to bloom this year and I love seeing the butterflies and bees (no frogs!) visiting. We hung bird feeders that didn't attract much attention at first but we now have some regular visitors who are eating us out of house and home at the rate they go through seed/fat balls!

If you hang that astro turf up somewhere it may stay clean enough to put down when it's dry
*featherboards are dirt cheap too.

What a great project, and the result looks really great. I just need to replay this video every Saturday morning before I take on the housecleaning and yard work. Very impressive initiative and dedication to improving your home. Sometimes you just have to crack a whip on yourself and get it done. But you feel so accomplished after it's over, right?

Hi Izzy, I had the same dilemma with storing stuff outside. I bought a Keter storage box for outside. It just pops together. You get them in Argos and Home arginine depending on the size you require. Great back yard now 👍 👌

1 suggestion, you could put an awning up over the seating area so as you can enjoy sitting out there in the rain! enjoy the space you have created.
Or like a gazebo that would defo be a vibe.

The possibilities are endless. What a great outdoor space, I hope your landlord will appreciate the improvement you have made to the area overall. Maybe an outdoor storage box would be helpful to place all your cushions etc if you don't have much space indoors. If you get a chance I would give the patio a good go with a power wash just to get rid of any extra black bits than can be slippy if wet. And as for frogs, frogs are good 🐸. This area will enhance your lives so much, enjoy! 🌼🦩🐸🧹☀🪴

Loved this one, get some white paint on that end wall, it will lift it up even more. A brilliant job.
Great job! If you have a bit of extra money I would buy concrete floor (non-slip) paint you will certainly brighten up a shaded patio garden!

Izzy! Such a fantastic job - thank you for sharing the transformation. I know that you have mentioned that you get anxiety at times and also there's the Frog phobia. Given all of that, I am very impressed with how positive you are about tasks - even the so-called 'mundane' ones, such as scrubbing away algae and clearing the vegetation. It's a lesson for us all, with the hard prep work that is required for any job. Instead of complaining, you appreciated the smells and textures around you. That is what I call working mindfully. Any time I get impatient or frustrated from now on, I'll try and think 'how would Izzy approach this?' :)

Use old pots and pans with holes drilled in bottom for plant pots. Old buckets with holes in bottom for containers. Colanders as hanging baskets. Garden centres sell the chains or you can use old rope or paracord. £120? Tom is never letting you go shopping alone ever again lol. ps There is no frog or toads until you see it in the bushes, so just remember it will eat slugs and things! And people never try anything until they get it into their mind to just do something and get on with it like you did. You have already seen how light and airy the plot is now.
now that you have created this haven of peace it would be interesting to install an aviary with some tropical birds such as conures for their beauty and their colors with the melodious song of these wonderful pets❤

What a lovely transformation once the trees are cut back you will have so much light flooding in to cover the old fencing buy some bamboo screening it comes on a roll and is easy to fix with some horse shoe tacks 😊

Frogs? I'm ok with them. I have a garden ornament frog that is quite cute. Had him for years. However, snakes are what really freak me out!
