100% on taking the cliche shot. Even if you don't "use" it, its nice to have your own copy with your own memory. I used to be against doing that and have completely changed my tune. Grab the main one quick, then I can feel free to spend the rest of my time looking for those unique angles.

This is the second video I’ve watched this week where (unknown to me) a GFX was in play.
The need is real. Gotta get that big sensor energy in my life.
It’s cool but you definitely don’t need it. Every photo could have been taken the exact same way with any camera after a 5D especially the black and white ones. I returned the loaner GFX because I didn’t really see any upside aside from more megapixels.
I'm happy to have been raised in Flathead, this place is gorgeous.
Flathead lake was absolutely bonkers.
Excellent travel video. The only thing better than a road trip is a road trip with friends who share a few common interests.

Another great video. I was able to live in Bozeman for about 5 years while going to MSU. It was a great time and would do it again in a heartbeat. There is so much to explore in Montana. I am happy you were able to have a great time, and you should definitely go back and see more of it.
Already feel like I need to go back. It felt like the Midwest but with mountains within a couple hours.

Enjoyed the video. Bryan! About 10 years ago I was lucky enough to be sent to Montana for work during two summers. I traveled up to Glacier National Park 4-5 times! The place is simply amazing.

Moved here from CA 3 years ago. I’m not far from GNP, just north. It’s amazing. My cabin I’m building has a view that’s insane…sometimes I feel like I don’t even need to leave my house. 😂 Montana is INCREDIBLE.

Incredible photography. I'm glad you said what you said about taking the cliche shots. I've never been in the "don't take the cliche shots" camp. Idc if its been photographed a thousand times. None of those photos are mine. I want my own photo of it, even if it looks similar to someone else's.
Winogrand said something along those lines. He wants to see something photographed by himself.

I love a deep black but never fell in love with bright whites. Not really a fan of strong contrast either. I just like it dark. Color too.

Just wonderful. Yellowstone is on my bucket list to visit. And I must return to Yosemite at some point. Been before but didn't have a decent camera as on a work trip :(
Yosemite is indeed on the list as well.
Every time a "Birks Original" drops, I end up adding more Ilford and Kodak Portra 4x5 to my cart at B&H. You make it expensive on me but damnit, it's totally worth it.

Awesome video. I love going on trips like this one myself. What you said about trips like this resetting you rang true for me as well. I loved all the black and white. The landscapes had such depth and dimension.
Also I can’t tell you how much I felt that last bit. Been there 😂
I can usually get through the talking part quite well but as soon as I mess up once on one thing I am absolutely going to butcher it five times straight.
@@BryanBirks I’m almost the same. Sometimes I sail through and sometimes I can’t get a word out. Sometimes I’ll record several different takes and find out I did just fine the first time. Sometimes I just turn it all off and walk away for a bit.
