- Back in July, I went on a wonderful backpacking trip to the Alpine Lakes Wilderness in Washington state which lies in the heart of the Cascade Mountains. This is one of the most beautiful landscapes I've ever seen and it's always a great time getting up to these alpine lakes to explore the unique terrain. I was shooting on my Mamiya 7ii with the 43mm lens using Kodak Vision 3 250D IMAX film and Velvia 100. Hope you enjoy!

Btw you inspired me to fly to Utah this weekend to do some solo hiking with my Mamiya 6 (50mm is magnificent). I have some Velvia and Portra 800 in the bag (never shot landscapes on P800 before but yours always look awesome.) Cheers!

It would also be super interesting if you have the ability to print from the dark room whether the Velvia colours look better printed from the negative, rather than scanned digitally

You need to check out Thunder Mountain Lakes in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness. I was just there this past weekend. Incredible views. If you want coordinates for an amazing campsite there just let me know I'll share with you.

Brooo, at some point on a shot of you at sunset, you can see like 10 mosquitoes circling your head - look I love the outdoors, but those mosquitoes are vicious lol how'd you survive that?? Great video! 🔥🔥

Btw, when you are taking the sunset pictures, the amount of mosquitoes on your hat gave me anxiety, are you using repelent?
Thanks! Yea, I was using repellent, but sometimes it doesn't do a whole lot lol
(15:50) A split - ND filter would be of tremendous help there. However, given that you did NOT used an SLR camera, that could create a whole new set of problems 🤣
Haha yeah that's the bummer with the Mamiya. Although I've read about a method that allows you to use split NDs on rangefinders. Just haven't set my camera up for it yet...

where are you getting velvia developed?
I drop off at Speedy ePhoto in Lakewood, Wa. However they send it off to a third party lab for dev and im not sure which lab that is
@@BraeHunziker i see. was wondering because last i tried to take velvia to a lab they said it was illegal to develop in the us, but that i could try some labs in canada. great video 😁
