think you missed the point at the end of the video. the comedian is using a person with a head scarf called ahmed as a portrayal of what a terrorist and how people find it hillarious to negatively stereo people, where as the song aims to put a real person to the name of ahmed and what we hear in the media as "refugees" "illegegal immigrants" etc showing the consequences of anti immigration policy
Lowkey is a fucking beast. Not a lot of people know him cuz he raps about touchy subjects, his house was raided and his music taken away because they said his music inspires terrorism. You guys should definitely dive down his discography he will blow your minds.
I think the reason Lowkey put the ventriloquist at the end was to highlight the casual racism implicit in the performance, the de-humanizing of people with names like "Ahmed".
Lowkey's 'fire in the booth's' are fire. The 1st is more of a flex and pt2 is more of a message(one which the world needs to see)both worth a watch, extremely talented dude
"The name of the song’s subject is ‘Ahmed’ which is frequently mispronounced as ‘Achmed’ by Westerners, possibly due to the influence of comedian Jeff Dunham’s poor taste Jihadi skeleton puppet (named Ahmed but pronounced Achmed) which makes up a cornerstone of his ‘hilarious’ stage act and a clip of this is shown at the end of the music video for this track". (Genius).
"Ahmed never grew to let your racism internalize" means he was so young and innocent that there's no way or reason why anyone should be racist towards him because of his young age and innocence.
A lot of lowkeys music is very specific to UK events and culture, I don’t think a lot of other countrymen would truly understand - like your own comments regarding reaching for his dad and drowning… This is reference to immigrants fleeing war torn countries to come to England and Englands political sphere sending boats back to France or blocking them. Think of it like Mexicans coming to America but having to cross oceans to get there.
Whats more heartbreaking is that this is a true story So basically the story is Ahmed family lived on the shores of Syria. They got caught in a running battle between the Syrian government and ISIS so built a make shift raft to try and sail to Greece but the raft sank and they all died, the only body found was Ahmed, they never found his family (Ahmed is actually the baby in the red top who’s body is getting carried off the beach half way through the video). While this was happening, there was a political debate on free speech in the UK as a journalist (who now works for Fox News in the US) called Katie Hopkins called drowning refugees “rats on a sinking ship” and right wing politicans in both the US and UK defended her comments on the grounds of free speech. Thats what inspired Low-key to come out of hiatus to make this song.
The boy in the red top is Alan Kurdi. He with his parents and brother fled Syria due to ISIS to Turkey and tried claiming asylum in Canada where they had relatives. Canada refused their application and wanted to leave Turkey. So they got on a boat to get to the nearest Greek island, Kos. On the journey, the boat was too over populated and sunk. Alan drowned. Just give him a quick search sometime
Check out more lowkey, terrorist and obamanation are great, also dave question time is also amazing. Uk rap is concious and so underrated. Also mic righteous i love u
I feel like the ending went over the head a little. To be fair though if you dont know his background, you're less likely to connect the dots or interpret his very unique mindset. Good reaction though ✌️
the ending was to show how ignorant people would laugh at the jokes because they dont know about the tragedy its based on , thats all i think it is, it wasnt to lighten up the mood
the ending is just showing how dehumanization of arabs and refugees happens very commonly in comedy, movies, and all other forms of media. It's jokes like this that cause much more harm than we realize like what happened to Ahmed. It's honestly a disgusting comedy show. Even as kid, I used to laugh at Akhmed the dead terrorist because i didn't understand the implications of what it can have on people over time, until I used to receive the same type of jokes directed at me in high school, and see the stereotypes from these "jokes" actually used in propaganda to fuel hate crimes world wide.
Personally the puppet at the end seems like - typical ignorant American humour, demonising people from the Middle East if you follow me. Cheers for this. Lowkey - lyrical genius
your fiancee was spot on about the end of the video. It was not funny at all. If you watched all the way to the end, you would have understood why that last skit was inserted in the track
Just a heads up as you seem to have missed it, more the fella not the female (this is my first time on your channel), the bit at the end is mocking what has happened to children trying to flee, paints them as terrorists... the fact the guy missed that is shocking, he just watched a song about the child and couldn't see the offence in that stand up while naming the child?! You need to look at yourself, that ain't funny?! Can't believe after watching that you couldn't see the relevance?!
He wasn’t making it funny in the end of vid. He’s bringing a light to what people think and its not right true what they think. They’ve been lobotomised Bt the media and he wants you to think!
You're a couple of legends! Thank you for reacting to my suggestion 😎
Absolutely 💯

One of you understood the point of that ending, one of you did not.

She understood the ending in a way, he didn’t lol
This was the first song that came out after his five year hiatus. I remember being happy Lowkey was back and sad about the song.
Lowkey's 'fire in the booth's' are fire. The 1st is more of a flex and pt2 is more of a message(one which the world needs to see)both worth a watch, extremely talented dude
I’m about to subscribe right now and lowkey fire in the booth 2 is a must and I don’t like that puppet nonsense either 👍🏻

Please keep reacting to Lowkey! Every track is a winner 🙏🏻🔥
"Ahmed never grew to let your racism internalize" means he was so young and innocent that there's no way or reason why anyone should be racist towards him because of his young age and innocence.
I think the guy absolutely lost the point laughing at the puppet at the end. The lady reviewer is on a higher level.
Yes! You got to LOWKEY! You have to react to more to him please ❤️

No it was showing how they’re mocking at the end like a certain look is matched with terrorism
Yeah it's not supposed to be there at the end to make you feel good. If you're feeling angry or sick that is the intended effect.
Low keys song about grenfel is awesome but you may want to read up about the grenfel tower frie first then you will appreciate the song more
Thank you for watching and reacting.
Whats more heartbreaking is that this is a true story

The ending was to show some of the dehumanising way people are stereotyped.

He added that at the end to show us there's people taking the piss. Not ment to be funny. Meant to be emotional
